Are you ready to advance your welding career by working with cutting-edge robotic technology? As a Robotic Welder Operator at Vermeer, you’ll operate and maintain robotic welding systems, apply your welding knowledge to ensure quality and productivity, and support continuous improvement in automated manufacturing. You’ll build on foundational welding skills, collaborate with team members, and contribute to building world-class equipment.
What You’ll Do
1. Operate robotic welding systems to complete weldments according to blueprints and welding procedure specifications, following Vermeer Welding Standards and American Welding Society (AWS) D14.0 requirements.
2. Position, align, and fit components using fixtures; bolt, clamp, and tack weld parts to secure them for robotic welding.
3. Monitor and adjust robotic welding parameters for Gas Metal Arc Welding – Pulsed (GMAW-P) processes to optimize weld quality and throughput.
4. Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on robotic welding equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
5. Access and interpret digital work instructions and drawings using computer systems to support accurate weld execution.
6. Support 5S and workplace organization goals by maintaining a clean and efficient work area and contribute to continuous improvement and department performance metrics.
7. Collaborate with welders and team members to identify welding defects, assist in root cause analysis, and support corrective actions to maintain product quality.

- Crosstrain in a minimum of three Vermeer welding areas.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, interpreting welding symbols, applying decimal-based measurements for precision and quality, and accessing and interpreting digital work instructions and drawings using computer systems.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify welding defects and participate in root cause analysis.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement; ability to work collaboratively with team members.
