    Seasoned Registered Nurse Needed for night shift with UPMC Western Maryland's Resource Intensive Care Unit!

UPMC Western Maryland is seeking a Registered Nurse with at least two years of nursing experience, with at least one being within Critical Care to support our Resource Intensive Care department.     Responsibilities:

    + Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.

    + BSN preferred (Master's in Nursing or DNP may substitute for certification).

    + Must achieve and maintain a Solid/Strong/Good or higher rating on annual Professional Staff Nurse Performance Evaluations.

    + Demonstrated ability to:

    + Provide age-appropriate care and apply principles of growth and development across the lifespan.

    + Assess patient data and interpret age-specific needs according to department policies.

    + Establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

    + Work effectively in a complex environment with multiple/changing priorities and specialized equipment.

    + Exemplary clinical judgment, critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

    + Physical requirements:

    + Mobility and visual/manual dexterity.

    + Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and patient positioning.

    + Professional contribution annually (department, hospital, or system goal) OR:

    + Obtain UPMC-approved nursing certification within 1 year of hire/transfer and maintain it.

    + Certification not required if holding a Master's in Nursing or DNP.

    + If BSN is held, a Master's degree in a related field may substitute for certification.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

    + Annual completion of a professional contributions selected from department, hospital or system goals, and approved by Unit Director OR

    + UPMC approved nursing certification required within 1 year of hire/transfer and must be maintained. OR

    + Certification not required if Master's in nursing or DNP is held. If a BSN is held, a Master's degree in a related field may be substituted in lieu of Certification.

    + Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

    + Registered Nurse (RN)

    *Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
