Job Description

An employer sitting in Simi Valley, CA is looking to hire an onsite Senior MBSE Engineer working a 9/80. This person will be the visionary in developing resolution to critical issues and broad design matters pertaining to the development of a variety of innovative Unmanned Systems for defense and commercial applications. Because of the nature of the development efforts, the MBSE Engineer, will have a hand in a variety of stages of development including requirements definition, concept design, prototyping, detailed design, validation and verification testing. This MBSE engineer will be very hands on with the modeling and demonstration of various products such as all unmanned aerial systems, (small and medium systems), loitering munition systems, and video ray (underwater ROV). He/She will be supporting multiple designs and testing drone systems by building and using detailed computer models like (DOORS/Cameo) to predict how the drone will behave. This MBSE will lead a group of other engineers in technical projects with the goal of analyzing all parts of a system to make sure each component (mechanical, electrical, guidance, software) is performing as it should. Overall, they help shape current and future drone designs and keep everything technically aligned across the engineering teams. This person will also be holding direct stakeholder and customer management and will need to understand system development lifecycle on the government side, while being fluent in speaking with the DOD. This MBSE Engineer will be working alongside a team of other Seniors (5-7) people. This position is paying between $175-240k/year.

Skills and Requirements

• 12-15+ years of hands on modeling experience such as (physical and logical decomposition) in Systems Engineering in Defense or UAV; (Architecting, modifying and supporting aircraft avionics, flight control systems, payloads, missiles)

• MBSE experience and ability to be an individual contributor to modeling, utilizing MBSE tools and methodologies

• Highly knowledgeable of (EAF) Enterprise Architecture reference framework and (TRF) Technical Reference Framework/Technical Reference Model (TRM)

• Understanding of system development lifecycle on the government side, ability to be customer facing, stakeholder management, writing procedures and requirements

Familiar with MOSA-aligned technical standards, FACE (aviation), SAT, SEMOS, and related compliance standards • Strong understanding of traceability and the ability to link requirements through to test and verification (VRAD, RRAD, etc.), ensuring full alignment with Prime Contractor and government milestones

• Experience conducting concept and customer design reviews, with involvement across multiple production and development stages and strong procedural writing skills

• Experience with CDR, TLR, PDR, and FQT, and full exposure to the system design “V-cycle”
