Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Warehouse IT Support Specialist to ensure the smooth operation of technology systems within a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role is critical for maintaining automation systems, network connectivity, and IT infrastructure that supports warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with RF devices, printers, PLCs, and Windows-based systems, as well as strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities. This position requires flexibility, attention to detail, and a commitment to minimizing downtime and optimizing operational efficiency. This will ideally be for the 2nd shift from 2:30PM-11PM but might have flexibility to rotate from 1st to 2nd shift.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical support for warehouse operations, including automation systems, PLCs, barcode scanners, handheld devices, RF devices, industrial PCs, and back-office equipment.
Configure and maintain RF devices, integrating with WMS and using MDM tools (e.g., SOTI) for package deployment and device management.
Set up and troubleshoot label and letter printers, ensuring proper calibration and consistent print quality.
Respond to end-user issues via face-to-face interaction, phone, or escalated helpdesk tickets.
Diagnose and resolve hardware/software issues related to warehouse IT infrastructure and back-office systems.
Support and maintain Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), following proper escalation processes.
Monitor and support network connectivity for warehouse devices, including wireless access points and mobile terminals.
Troubleshoot and repair Windows-based systems used in warehouse operations.
Support PLC-based automation systems with basic diagnostics and vendor coordination.
Perform installations, upgrades, and maintenance of warehouse IT equipment.
Ensure compliance with IT security policies, including malware protection.
Document solutions and share knowledge to enhance the support knowledge base.
Utilize the Help Desk system to manage tickets and track resolution.
Receive, inventory, and deploy new hardware using asset management systems.
Support IT components of warehouse automation projects, including rollouts and audits.
Provide on-site support during outages or automation failures to minimize downtime.
Adapt to changing priorities and critical issues in a fast-paced environment.
Work overtime or off-hours as required to support 24/7 operations, including 2nd shift when needed.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, reach, kneel, crawl, push/pull, handle objects, grasp, and perform repetitive motions frequently in a warehouse environment.
Must be able to climb occasionally and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
Requires close visual acuity for tasks such as data analysis, computer work, visual inspection of parts, and machine operation.
Frequent use of hearing, talking, and reading for communication and documentation.
Comfortable working in varying warehouse temperatures and on the floor area.
Flexibility to support extended hours or off-shift work as needed for 24/7 operations.
