Job Description
BAE Systems is looking for a qualified **Systems Engineer** to join our team in support of Program Acquisition for the MK21A Reentry Vehicle Development Program as required by the warfighter, Air Force Global Strike Command. This position will support the newly formed Integration IPT, focusing specifically on the electrical interfaces between the Mk21A reentry vehicle and the Sentinel ICBM platform.
We're seeking a Systems Engineer with experience in the integration and testing of complex systems, with a strong understanding of **electrical engineering principles and interface design** . Experience with Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and managing interface requirements is highly desirable. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliable and robust electrical connection and communication between the Mk21A and the Sentinel, from pre-launch through reentry.

Additional responsibilities include providing weapon system expertise in conducting integrated engineering-level assessments of analysis, production, verification, validation, operation, maintenance, and problem resolution processes as part of the program development cycle and to identify and mitigate design, production, and test deficiencies that could impact successful development.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
+ B.S. degree in engineering, software, mathematics, or physics.
+ At least 3 years of progressive technical experience or 2 years with a Masters Degree
+ Experience designing, analyzing, and managing electrical interfaces between complex systems, including development and maintenance of Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
+ Experience with ICBM systems, DOD acquisition processes, and relevant military standards governing electrical and mechanical interfaces.
+ Must possess and maintain a US DoD Security Clearance.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
At least 2 years of experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
Proficiency in interpreting and applying ICDs, particularly those related to mechanical and electrical interfaces in complex systems. Experience with writing requirements and ensuring compliance with ICD requirements throughout the program s design and into production.
Experience with Mk21A/W87-1/Sentinel hardware or similar weapon systems. Familiarity with the unique challenges and constraints associated with integrating nuclear weapon systems. Experience with support equipment, surety requirements, and the interplay between DOD and DOE requirements is a significant plus.
Familiarity with program management principles, including cost, schedule, and performance assessment.
Excellent cognitive, communication (written and spoken), and interpersonal skills, briefing and providing reports to executive-level leaders.
Digital Ecosystem understanding, development, and knowledge based application.
Experience with DoD acquisition programs.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $86460 - $146982
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
