The Obstetrics and Gynecology department in the School of Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a Research Consultant 2 (Temporary) to join their team.
Overview
This is a temporary position that will support multiple ongoing research studies, including ROSES, SISTER, and SISTER Extension. The position will work closely with faculty, staff, and study participants to ensure the smooth execution of research activities. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing administrative and logistical tasks in support of research projects. This position will assist with medical records requests and abstraction, participant support, data collection, and administrative functions in support of research operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Medical Records Support (60%)
+ Request, track, and process medical records for participants enrolled in the SISTER Extension study, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and university policies.
+ Maintain, update, and adapt databases containing data from multiple sources; execute database queries to respond to internal staff requests.
+ Responsible for accurate, timely, and consistent abstraction of electronic medical records data from paper or electronic format into RedCap.
+ Participate in regular meetings with Project Manager(s), Research Coordinator(s), and/or Principal Investigator(s) to review abstraction data quality and resolve outstanding queries.
+ Use critical thinking skills, clinical knowledge, and knowledge of medical terminology to interpret medical records and make reasonable adjudications regarding patient classifications.
+ Understand and enforce hospital confidentiality policies and procedures including HIPPA.
Participant Communications & Engagement (25%)
+ Distribute participant communications and incentives in alignment with study protocols and university guidelines.
Communications and Study Materials (15%)
+ Prepare and mail enrollment packets, retention materials, surveys, and other correspondence to participants in the SISTER Extension study.
+ Maintain accurate records of mailings and communications to ensure participant engagement and data collection timelines are met.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
+ Bachelor's degree in public health or a related field and two years of experience in academic or healthcare research.
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
Additional Requirements:
+ Previous experience in academic or healthcare research.
+ Strong organizational and independent time-management skills.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfort with online survey or data collection tools.
+ Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and to maintain compliance with research regulations.
DESIRED REQUIREMENTS
+ Experience with human subjects research.
+ Familiarity with medical records handling and HIPAA compliance.
Working Conditions
+ In-person work only at the Seattle main campus.
Compensation, Benefits and Position Details
Pay Range Minimum:
$65,352.00 annual
Pay Range Maximum:
$70,008.00 annual
