Job Summary

Under direct supervision of certified technologist or advanced imaging assistant. Assists technical staff with providing patient care in relation to their technical duties, which may include assisting with patient prep, transporting patients, and preparing contrast. They may also assist with the review and completion of medical imaging orders, reviewing consent forms, MRI safety forms, entering necessary information into the computer, screening for medical implants, shrapnel, and wearable devices to ensure safety prior to entering the MRI magnet suit (Zone 4) or scan room.

Essential Functions

+ Assist with patient care, including changing patient and the review of the patient safety questionnaire with patient.

+ Assist the modality Technologist in setting up scan rooms, placing patients on the table, attaching necessary coils and/or head holders on the table according for exam.

+ Assist with starting IV’s on patient receiving contrast injections.

+ Assist in emergency situations such as contrast reactions, CPR’s.

+ Verify patient lab values, documents patient exam information, create CD’s for patients. Participate in patient final verification

+ Assist with supply ordering, putting away stock, and monitoring stock for expired products. Also assists in with linen supply, stocking blanket warmer, disposing of soiled linen and carts.

+ Cleans scan rooms and holding rooms in between patients. Assist with transportation of patients.

Qualifications

+ Required High School Diploma or equivalent

+ 2 years of relevant experience patient care Preferred

+ CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required Or

+ CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required
