Position Summary:
At Arkansas State University Helping Our Wolves Learn (HOWL) and Autonomy Through Leadership, Advocacy, and Service (ATLAS) Transition Programs we serve students who have intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) or autism and want to learn more about becoming independent, vocational exploration, socialization, and community integration. Each student has a personalized plan that encompasses socialization, independent living, vocational, financial, and social goals, which is commonplace for inclusive post-secondary education (IPSE) programs around the nation.
Assist individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities to develop, improve and maintain work related skills at community-based employment by providing individualized training, support and encouragement. They will also participate in a statewide consortium for other IPSE by receiving training and providing support and technical assistance for other internship coordinators.
Duties & Responsibilities:
+ Teaching and modeling professional skills
+ Facilitating mock interviews
+ Providing guidance on resume and cover letter creation
+ Conduct job site analysis and work site analysis. Be actively helping individuals improve and maintain work- related skills
+ Provide job training in partnership with the employer related to job tasks, work habits and employment requirements
+ Identify barriers and solutions to work related needs. Provide job training in partnership monthly with the other internship coordinators related to job tasks, barriers and solutions.
+ Make connections and network with chamber of commerce, businesses, and local communities
+ Complete all documentation as required to ensure quality services
+ Responsible for managing and sending “Broadcast” emails relative to student engagement opportunities as well as other student communication needs
+ Follows program and university procedures to promote optimum health care, safety practice and behavioral supports to maintain the well-being of person(s) served
+ Administrative duties
+ Transports Clients
+ Develop and maintain a cooperative working relationship with various teams
+ Writes goals and documents progress towards goals
+ Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
An earned associate degree and two (2) years of related experience or an earned bachelor’s degree in related field
