*EPILEPTOLOGIST* *Join the Ayer Neuroscience Institute at Hartford HealthCare* *The Hartford HealthCare (HHC) Epilepsy Center* has experienced tremendous growth and is seeking a fellowship trained BC/BE *Epileptologist. *We have a collaborative and inclusive model of care, offering personalized, coordinated care with excellent patient experience. Our center has all the specialized diagnostic and treatment tools needed to help people with seizures get more out of life. *_Job details:_* Preferred candidates will have strong competency in the management of people with seizures. Interest in education, research, or quality are also welcomed and supported. Clinical duties include outpatient care for people with epilepsy, as well as a mix of outpatient EEGs, EMU, LTM and intracranial EEG services. Most of our epileptologists spend half their year in clinic, and the remainder on EEG services, with ratios adjusted to preference of duties. * * *_About the Epilepsy Center at the HHC Ayer Neuroscience Institute :_* *The Epilepsy Center* at Hartford HealthCare’s Ayer Neuroscience Institute’s approach to care is a supportive, multidisciplinary care model. Our team includes 8 epileptologists and 3 neurosurgeons. The behavioral health of our patients is attended to in collaboration with our social worker, neuropsychologist and psychiatrist. Our care model is strengthened by a group of outstanding advanced practice providers, 2 epilepsy clinic nurses, our nurse navigator, and our excellent colleagues in the inpatient units, clinics and EEG labs. We are a warm and welcoming group of people with a very collaborative mindset. We enjoy a private practice approach in the clinic balanced by an academic program structures. We enjoy teaching our epilepsy fellow, and our frequent interactions with the UConn neurology residents, whose inpatient training is based at Hartford Hospital. Furthermore, HHC offers excellent infrastructure for research and innovation and has multiple clinical collaborations with technology companies. As epilepsy specialists we meet regularly to discuss complex cases, review EEGs, discuss journal articles, and share ideas. The Epilepsy Center offers: · Highly advanced care for people of all ages with seizures and all forms of epilepsy · Level 4 Accredited Epilepsy Center by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC) · The full range of EEG types, 3T MRI, functional MRI, PET, Wada test, and epilepsy focused neuropsychological evaluations, with collaborative access to MEG and 7T MRI. · A state of the art Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) in an ABRET accredited EEG lab staffed with registered EEG technologists. · SPECT studies with high quality image processing · Intracranial EEG monitoring, paired with sophisticated brain reconstruction software for exquisite electrode localization and seizure interpretation. · The most advanced surgical treatments, including deep brain stimulation (DBS), and responsive neurostimulation (RNS) and laser ablation. *_About Hartford HealthCare’s Ayer Neuroscience Institute:_* *The Ayer Neuroscience Institute at Hartford HealthCare* is a rapidly expanding Institute with a focus on comprehensive patient care, academics, and research.
