The Business Continuity and Crisis Management Manager will lead the strategic direction and operational execution of Ford’s Business Continuity and Crisis Management program. This critical role involves overseeing the Business Continuity Program, ensuring the continuous readiness of crisis management plans, and driving initiatives to protect our assets, reputation, and operational integrity. You will work closely with Global Security senior leadership, global skill teams, and cross-functional partners to foster a robust culture of preparedness and effective response to all types of disruptions. This position requires proven leadership, advanced strategic thinking, and exceptional communication skills to navigate complex challenges and ensure organizational resilience.
What you'll do…
+ Lead the strategic direction, development, and execution of the organization's comprehensive Business Continuity and Crisis Management Program.
+ Develop policies and procedures that provide consistent strategic direction and oversight of the Business Continuity Program.
+ Lead the review of the Business Continuity guides and templates for developing business continuity plans, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and best practices.
+ Lead the Business Continuity Steering Committee, coordinating quarterly sessions to align on risk and yearly meetings to review BCP templates.
+ Oversee and manage the Modular Control Review Program for Business Continuity, adhering to standards established by Internal Control.
+ Lead the review of information uploaded on the Business Continuity SharePoint site to ensure accurate and accessible information.
+ Monitor, assess, and escalate significant changes to the risk environment, identifying deteriorating exposures and evidence of emerging risks to senior leadership.
+ Lead the Crisis Management Program for senior level management, providing strategic direction and oversight.
+ Oversee crisis plans, including leading the activation and operation of the Emergency Operations Center during incidents.
+ Develop and oversee simulations and tabletop exercises for senior management and critical skill teams, including their execution, testing plans, documentation of lessons learned, and directing subsequent plan updates.
+ Conduct comprehensive After-Action Reviews (AARs) to capture lessons learned from exercises and real crises, ensuring their incorporation into Business Continuity and Crisis Management Plans for continuous improvement.
+ Drive global initiatives that help incorporate lessons learned from exercises and real crises across the organization.
+ Interface with organizations globally to provide strategic support and oversee day-to-day functions related to Business Continuity Plans, procedures, training, audit, policy development, testing, and ensure plan compliance.
+ Interface directly with the Enterprise Risk Management committee to ensure seamless alignment of business continuity and crisis management initiatives with broader organizational risk strategies.
+ Interface with the Global Security Operations Center, Regional Security Managers, and the Protective Intelligence Team to proactively address risks and prioritize actions in accordance with the Incident Response Plan.
+ Collaborate and coordinate with Corporate Communications for enterprise-wide awareness initiatives as it relates to Global Security Operations and Business Continuity.
+ Identify and evaluate communication tools and new technology to continuously enhance the business continuity program's capabilities.
+ Prepare annual reports and presentations for the Director of Global Security to brief the Board of Directors and Audit Committee on comprehensive program status, exercise results, and future BC/CM initiatives.
You'll have…
+ Master’s Degree in a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Risk Management, Security Studies) OR Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of direct experience working in crisis management, business continuity, or security-related disciplines.
+ 3+ years of management or supervisory experience leading teams or significant projects within crisis management, business continuity, or security-related disciplines.
+ Demonstrated experience in developing, maintaining, and testing business continuity plans, with a proven track record of leading successful projects.
+ Experience with security incident response, mitigation, and recovery at a leadership or oversight level.
+ Extensive experience designing and conducting tabletop exercises for various organizational levels, including executive leadership.
+ Proficient and broad knowledge in business continuity and disaster recovery processes, concepts, strategies, and methodologies, including business impact analysis, recovery procedures, training, metrics, and crisis management.
+ Extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
+ Experience in identifying and evaluating communication tools and new technology to enhance business continuity programs.
+ Experience with business continuity and risk management software and mass notification systems.
+ Strong organizational leadership, decision-making, and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently with limited supervision and drive strategic initiatives.
+ Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear guidance and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including senior management and the Board of Directors.
+ Proven ability to deliver compelling and informative presentations to leadership and broader enterprise audiences.
+ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with excellent attention to detail.
+ Proven ability to work closely and successfully with diverse teams and stakeholders to deliver impactful results.
+ Strong project management, systematic thinking, and strategic planning skills.
