Position Overview
**Power Your Future with Qualus** as a Lead Electrical Engineer in our Program Management Orginization. The Engineering Project Lead is a highly skilled, hands-on technical leader who will lead complex electrical utility projects. This role leads the day-to-day execution of projects focusing on transmission, distribution equipment, and relay protection upgrades, ensuring they're delivered efficiently and to the highest standards. The incumbent must possess advanced technical knowledge and extensive experience in both project leadership and field operations to help guide projects to successful completion. This role may act as a primary client interface, from initial assessments and proposals to handling client communication and ensuring project compliance.
Responsibilities
+ Lead successful execution of electrical utility projects focusing on transmission, distribution equipment, and relay protection upgrades.
+ Act as a client interface, from initial assessment and qualification of project opportunities to handling correspondence, inquiries, and submittals. This includes conducting site walkthroughs to define scope and revisions, as well as assisting with or generating proposals.
+ Ensure project success through detailed planning and compliance, which involves reviewing and briefing stakeholders on all project specifications, instructions, and contractual requirements, as well as organizing bids.
+ Drive project execution and resource coordination by maintaining and overseeing schedules, collaborating with the Operations Team to secure necessary equipment and labor, and assisting with onsite work and material procurement as needed.
+ Participate in regular Production/Client Meetings to ensure alignment and address ongoing project needs.
+ Electrical Utility Project Management and Planning: Manage electrical utility projects, including transmission, distribution equipment, and relay protection upgrades. This encompasses feeder and transformer load analysis, outage submittals, area outage coordination, and project sequencing, ensuring proper planning of outages.
+ Hands-On Proficiency: Proficient with hand tools and mechanically inclined, willing to work in substation environments.
+ Testing & Design Review: Experienced with major test equipment software. Capable of initial review of P&C (Protection & Control) drawings to identify mistakes and scope issues and serve as a primary contact for technical questions on designs, applications, or testing.
+ Operational Coordination: material coordination, crew coordination (P&C and construction), and providing P&C crew oversight and support. This also involves coordinating with operations on high-profile jobs with potential risk and understanding/applying specific outage restrictions.
Communication & Stakeholder Management
+ Effective Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and regulatory counterparts in English (inclusive of reading and writing), due to the nature of safety-related materials, documentation, and interactions with clients.
+ Client & Stakeholder Relations: Build productive relationships with customers, serving as a contact for questions and concerns. Act as an advocate for client operations and the organization as a whole.
+ Information & Status Reporting: Effectively handle customer correspondence and submittals, including assisting with or generating proposals. Provide updates to client operations, client management, and engineering on project status.

Qualifications
Education:
+ Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET university or an Associate's/ AET degree, with an emphasis on power systems preferred
+ Experience: 5+ years’ experience in relay testing and commissioning in substations OR experience designing protection & control schemes.
+ Other Knowledge: Proficient in computers, computer networks, and Android/iPhone app skills: Microsoft Office suite of software, mapping drive letters for server connections, obtaining, installing, and connecting handheld device apps to ‘The Cloud’ or other locations as required
+ Additional Requirements: Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
+ Ability to read company manuals, reports, workplace rules, and procedures; speak with poise and confidence, using correct English. (This statement should be standard on all Job Descriptions)
Desired Qualifications:
+ Licensure/Certification: EIT, PE is preferred, not required
+ Desired Related Experience: Experience in reading and interpreting One Line, AC & DC Elementary, and Wiring diagrams

The expected compensation range for this position is based upon several factors, including but not limited toeducation, qualifications, prior relevant work experience and work location.
