Overview
Bowhead seeks a Senior Training Specialist in support of the Joint Ballistic Missile Defense Training and Education Center (JBTEC), located at Schriever AFB, Colorado.
Responsibilities
• Support curriculum development, curriculum maintenance, and the initial and sustainment training of JBTEC training specialists
• Train individuals and teams, often in a field environment, on all individual, common, and implied tasks
• Prepare training documents and services that are required to support classroom or equipment training
• Draw input from Test Engineers, Systems Analysts, Training Specialists, Logisticians, and the Government
• Supervise the activity of the Training Specialist Mid-Level
• Maintain contact with appropriate service training and doctrine commands and agencies to ensure that the training meets the needs of the customer
• Plan, organize, and teach in a manner consistent with government and JBTEC standards
• Promote and direct successful student learning by preparing classrooms, and support materials and creating an atmosphere that encourages student involvement and participation
• Communicate effectively in both oral and written forms with students, government personnel and fellow JBTEC personnel
• Serve on and contribute to a variety of matrixed course development and project teams; when assigned, serve as a Course Manager and or Focused Area Manager; developing and maintaining appropriate courseware
• Plan, lead and execute Mobile Training Team (MTT) responsibilities to locations worldwide
• Participate in quarterly instructor training to include providing enrichment briefings to other instructors
• Maintain certification and currency in all assigned training including but not limited to: cyber security and network usage, restricted area escort procedures, anti-terrorist and insider threat awareness
• Work with military and civilian students and personnel from all services and DOD organizations, as well as other governmental agencies and appropriately cleared, designated foreign students
• Must be willing and able to travel approximately 30% of the time
Qualifications
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or be a certified instructor from a military service or civilian institution
• Shall have a minimum of six (6) years of operational experience that is applicable to the curriculum
• Experience in the fields of training, missile defense, and courseware development: ten (10) years plus strongly preferred
• Senior Level Training Specialists will be required to be qualified through the JBTEC Instructor Training Program within six (6) months from start of performance
• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team Preferred Skills:
• Instructor certification from DOTD, AETC, or NAVEDTRA
• Prior experience working at combatant command level (PACOM, EUCOM, CENTCOM), Aegis SWO/BMD experience) or prior work experience at the NMCC, N2C2, GOC, JOC, AOC, MOC, TOC, or TAOC with IAMD duties
• Prior work experience in the ADA, SHORAD, Fighter, Bomber, EW or ABM community
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level initially and be able to obtain TS/SCI. US Citizenship is a requirement for a Top Secret/SCI clearance at this location.
Physical Demands:
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
