    Summary:

    This position is with the UNC Health Alliance organization. UNC Health Alliance is UNC Health’s statewide clinically integrated network and population health services organization. The mission of this team is to transform healthcare delivery on behalf of more than 8,000 providers by offering patient-centered solutions to populations covered under alternative payment models.     UNC Health Alliance is seeking a Program Coordinator to oversee a portfolio of complex value-based contracted programs from launch through completion, ensuring strong performance and measurable results. In this role, you’ll serve as the primary point of contact for both internal teams and external partners, fostering effective communication and seamless coordination. The ideal candidate brings experience in value-based care, strong administrative and organizational skills, and the ability to build trusted relationships with payer partners and cross-functional colleagues.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Analysis - Analyzes and resolves complex issues to maximize efficiency. Ensure all proper internal controls are in place to safeguard assets of the system and satisfy internal and external regulatory requirements. Develop and monitor operating and capital budget.

    2. Communication and relationships - Work with peers to identify and analyze opportunities for improvement. Implement processes to identify, implement and ensure standardization decisions occur with minimal disruption to patient care or administrative activities and creating solutions.

    3. Financial and business planning - Provides analytical and strategy support for the development and evaluation of population and value-based care opportunities. Performs analytics, provides business insight into implications of findings, develops business plans, and recommends opportunities for improvement.

    4. Program/Project Management - Responsible for program and project assignments for population and value care initiatives, working independently or collaboratively as appropriate to accomplish the assigned work. Identify issues and assist in developing strategies to address them prior to issues becoming critical. Keep senior management informed of project(s) status and any potential problems or concerns. Develops project plans, goals, and budgets identifies resources needed, develops schedules and methods for measuring results while maintaining optimum working relationships with all departmental units. Manages multiple, simultaneous projects.

    5. Strategic Planning - Interface with all UNC Health Care entities and effectively communicate strategies, successfully elicit support and provide assistance implementing those strategies.

    Education Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Administration or related field (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience).

    Licensure/Certification Requirements:

    • No licensure or certification required.

    Professional Experience Requirements:

    • If a Bachelor's degree: Three (3) years of experience in program development or management in any of the following population health, payor or health plan or in public health.

    • If an Associate's degree: Seven (7) years of experience in program development or management in any of the following population health, payor or health plan or in public health.

    • If a High School diploma or GED: Eleven (11) years of experience in program development or management in any of the following population health, payor or health plan or in public health.

    Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:

    • Strong analytical, communications, and change management skills with solid knowledge of project management required. Must be able to work independently and assume responsibility for all aspects of the project for the life of the project. Must be able to complete these projects while assuming responsibility of its success and failure while relying on a cross functional team and the authority of others to be successful.
