Azure Data Engineer
3-12 month contract

Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Azure Data Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Azure Synapse Analytics, experience working in a DevOps environment, and preferably familiarity with Databricks. This role focuses on building and optimizing data pipelines and analytics solutions to support business intelligence and advanced analytics initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical
• Proven ability to design, build, and maintain complex, scalable, efficient, and reliable data pipelines in Azure
• Implement PySpark transformations for large-scale data processing with Spark pools in Azure Synapse or Databricks
• Automate data ingestion, enrichment, and reconciliation processes with parametrized, reusable and auditable components
• Solid understanding of relational databases (Azure SQL), and NoSQL databases (Cosmos DB)
• Hands-on experience in DevOps environments with CI/CD pipelines
• Ensure data quality, security, and compliance
• Familiarity with Databricks
• Ability to work in a hybrid team environment
Collaboration and Domain Partnership
• Collaborate with Platform Engineers and Enterprise Architects to align design patterns and standards across enterprise data ecosystem
• Partner with data governance team and adhere to data governance policies and standards to ensure data integrity and compliance
• Collaborate with analytics teams to understand company needs and ensure our data platform can enable use cases across the business
Process and Documentation
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for all pipelines, data models, and operational procedures
• Prepare data flow diagrams, lineage maps, and control logs for audit reviews
Required Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering with Azure cloud technologies.
• Strong proficiency in Azure Synapse Analytics and related services.
• Hands-on experience in DevOps environments with CI/CD pipelines.
• Solid understanding of data, SQL, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with Databricks and Spark (preferred).
• Ability to work in a hybrid team environment.
