Position Description
Primary Purpose: Manage the safe, cost effective and reliable operation of the AG Area / Division 4 gas pipeline area assets which includes pipeline and compression. Oversee the planning and direction of the operational activities for all facilities and personnel within the area including an annual operation and maintenance budget. Essential duties and responsibilities: •Oversees the operation and maintenance of district facilities to ensure their safe, reliable, and efficient operation, including the management of multiple Supervisors in multiple locations •Ensures the implementation and enforcement of all company guidelines, policies and procedures. •Makes recommendations to Management regarding changes to such guidelines, policies & procedures, as necessary to achieve target goals.
•Set the objectives for the preparation of the operating and capital budgets for area of responsibility and reviews the status of the monthly forecasting during the fiscal year. •Oversees functions related to outside contractors operating on company property or in company Right-of-Way areas in order to protect company interests. •Reviews progress, directs changes in priorities and schedules as needed to assure work is completed in an efficient and timely manner.
•Participates in the selection/promotion of staff, salary change considerations, disciplinary matters and conducts performance evaluations.
•Develops short and long-term plans, goals and objectives •Remains current on developments in the field. •Coordinates department services with other departments, governmental agencies, and customers. •Ensures compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations affecting pipeline operations. •Ensures current security measures protect company assets while preserving the safety of the general public, customers, and company personnel. •Coordinates/participates in the design and construction of new facilities and replacement or repair of existing facilities with various team leaders. •Identify, report and correct safety and environmental concerns. •Reviews contracts pertaining to work around Company pipelines to ensure Company property is protected. Includes screening and reviewing leases, foreign crossing permits, highway expansion, or any Right-of-Way intrusion. •Oversees general pipeline maintenance and DOT compliance activities within the area of responsibility. •Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
Education: •Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business OR 10 years equivalent skills and experience. Certifications, licenses, registrations: •Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and driving record satisfactory to the Company and its insurers. •May be required to achieve and maintain certifications as required to perform job duties Experience / specific knowledge: •A minimum of 10 years experience in the natural gas industry •Must have working knowledge of PHMSA and OSHA regulations •Has solid understanding of business objectives and implements projects and ideas that significantly impact cash flow •Outlines project requirements and monitors progress to ensure the objectives are being met •Knowledge in the operation of processing, pipeline and compressor station operations. •Employee supervisory and/or asset management experience. Competencies, skills, and abilities: •Strong organizational, computer, technical and financial skills (including but not limited to MS Office – word, excel – spreadsheets and analysis, outlook, presentations, etc) •Intermediate math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals) •Ability to identify and anticipate expectations in an asset or project development •Ability to organize and priority daily work, and maintain strict confidentiality •Demonstrate the ability to lead toward operational excellence •Good verbal and written communications skills (able to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization, governmental regulators, customers and the public). •Effective personnel management skills, especially strong delegation skills •Customer focus. •Ability to plan, organize, document, prioritize and complete work efficiently. •Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills. •Strong commitment to safety and have active participation in the safety program.
