Associate Veterinarian – Create Your Own Career Path at the ARL
The Animal Rescue League of Iowa (ARL) is expanding our veterinarian team, and we’re looking for a compassionate, motivated Veterinarian to join our dynamic team. Whether you’re a new graduate eager to build skills, or a veterinarian looking to expand your expertise in a unique and mission-driven environment, the ARL offers a rare opportunity to shape your own professional journey whether that is working in surgery, shelter medicine, large animals at the ranch, or in clinic medicine.
What Makes the ARL Different
With five full-time, experienced veterinarians on staff, you’ll have access to hands-on mentorship, clinical guidance, and the freedom to explore what excites you most. Want to sharpen surgical skills? Dive deeper into shelter medicine? Gain experience with horses, livestock, or other large animals? You can build a customized career path here shaped with the opportunity to experience multiple facets of veterinary medicine.
You’ll also enjoy competitive market driven compensation and an expansive holiday and time-off policy designed to support your well-being and work–life balance. You’ll be part of a mission-driven culture where your work has a meaningful impact on animals and the community every day.
What You Bring
We are seeking candidates with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited program. Both new graduates and experienced veterinarians are encouraged to apply. You should bring a desire to develop professionally and collaborate within a supportive veterinary team, along with a passion for animal welfare and a commitment to high-quality care.
If you’re ready to further develop a career that’s both professionally rewarding and deeply impactful, we’d love to meet you.
Employment in this position is at-will, meaning that either the employee or the ARL may terminate the employment relationship at any time.
In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and/or applicable state regulations, the Animal Rescue League will provide reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities and encourages prospective employees and incumbents to discuss potential accommodations.
Opportunities Monday through Saturday depending on area of work interest.
