    Sanitation Tech

     

    Pay: $22- $24

     

    Shift: Overnight Shift (6 days week)

     

    Details: NOT a Janitor Role - You will be involved in working with production equipment (taking apart and cleaning)

    Job Description

    As a Sanitation Tech, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all equipment and infrastructure in a food manufacturing environment. You will adhere to proper sanitation procedures and guidelines, ensuring compliance with safety standards while using designated personal protective equipment (PPE).

    Responsibilities

    + Perform tasks according to Safety and Food Safety Standards.

    + Participate in safety training programs and contribute to the development of safety initiatives.

    + Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as SQF, GMP, HACCP, and OSHA.

    + Learn to clean different types of machinery and know the chemicals used for cleaning.

    + Rotate cleaning areas daily.

    + Cover all electronic devices and panels with plastic before starting wet cleaning in production areas.

    + Use air and water nozzles with appropriate PPE, such as ear protection and bump cap.

    + Check that machinery and equipment are completely clean and properly assembled after cleaning.

    + Store cleaning equipment appropriately and ensure it is not left in incorrect areas.

    + Follow proper Lock Out/Tag Out Procedures.

    + Work in a team to clean machinery as required.

    + Accurately weigh and report waste generated by machines.

    + Report safety hazards to the supervisor.

    + Use ladders or scissor lifts safely and avoid climbing on machines.

    + Label secondary containers of chemicals following OSHA-GHS procedures.

    + Operate trash and recycling machines and notify the supervisor when they reach capacity.

    + Use PPE such as safety goggles, hairnets, aprons, and boots when working in washrooms.

    + Assist in janitorial duties such as maintaining restrooms, office areas, and company property premises.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + 1-2 years' experience in food manufacturing or similar industries.

    + 1-2 years' experience in sanitation procedures with food manufacturing equipment.

    + Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written.

    + Proficient math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

    + Basic computer skills.

    + Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    + Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

    + Ability to work with water and chemicals.

    + Ability to work safely while maximizing productivity and efficiency.

    + Forklift/industrial equipment driving skills required.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High School Diploma or GED is a plus.

    + Reliable, punctual, and flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and off-shifts.

    + Adherence to a drug and alcohol zero-tolerance policy.

    + Compliance with food safety and third-party certification policies such as SQF, Gluten-Free, and Organic.

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment involves continual walking and standing on wet, hard surfaces, climbing and descending steps, and continual bending, kneeling, squatting, stooping, reaching, pulling, pushing, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Employees will drive industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and pallet jacks. The environment includes exposure to rotating and reciprocating parts, cool and hot temperatures, and noise. Employees must be able to stand for long periods.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elk Grove, CA.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
