    The City of Lenexa is currently accepting applications for a full-time Parts Specialist to join our fleet maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be:

    Come work in a brand new, state-of-the-art and spacious 19,300 sq. foot facility. If you-re seeking variety in your work, you will not be disappointed as the fleet maintenance team maintains and repairs nearly 425 city vehicles (including police and fire vehicles) and more than 250 small engines (weed-eaters, mowers and chainsaws). We operate a body and paint shop for city vehicles and perform towing and recovery services, welding and fabrication.

    This position also receives the following:

    Position Summary

    This is work of the inventory of parts and supplies for the City's fleet and equipment. Duties include ordering, receiving and stocking vehicle and equipment parts, keeping vehicle and equipment maintenance repair records, ordering fuel and expendable products and ordering fleet division supplies. Inspect and maintain KDHE fuel permits for multiple fuel sites. Reconcile all paperwork for purchases monthly.

     

    Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities

     

    + Plans, orders and maintains an adequate inventory of parts, fuel and supplies for all City vehicles and equipment including car wash.

    + Responsible for the control and accounting of the inventory; develops policies, practices and procedures. Also performs annual parts inventory.

    + Consolidates and maintains all paperwork for parts and supplies for monthly billing. Oversees the upkeep, maintenance and permitting of the fuel system.

    + Completes and maintains vehicle, mechanic, inventory and maintenance records such as work orders, preventive maintenance (PM) sheets, vehicle histories and vehicle evaluations.

    + Documents parts used on daily repairs.

    + Subject to call back for snow and other emergencies in accordance with department policy.

    Qualifications

    Minimum: High school diploma or G.E.D. and 2-3 years of storekeeping or auto parts experience OR Technical School with 1-2 years experience in related field. Valid Driver's License required upon start.

     

    Compensation and Benefits

     

    Hourly rate of pay per is $20.61 to $23.89 dependent on qualifications and directly related experience. This is a full-time, hourly non-exempt position. The City of Lenexa offers a comprehensive benefits package including:
