Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Provides technical support, troubleshooting, and repair of facility equipment. Maintains assigned equipment and provides training to peers as needed.

Responsibilities

+ Monitor production areas to ensure proper functioning of assigned equipment and intervene for repairs as necessary.

+ Utilize hand and power tools to diagnose, adjust, maintain, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.

+ Review work orders to ensure accuracy and maintain documentation of work performed.

+ Assist with installation of new equipment or modify existing equipment as required.

+ Provide training to peers as requested or needed by maintenance lead, supervisor, or training department.

+ Make suggestions for corrective measures when downtime results from mechanical or technical defects.

+ Attend maintenance meetings and trainings as required.

+ Identify opportunities for improvement and give feedback to supervisor about cost reduction, quality improvement, and yield control.

+ Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Essential Skills

+ Minimum of 6 months industrial maintenance experience.

+ Comfortable and experienced with hand and power tools of all varieties.

+ Ability to accurately use and read a tape measure and industrial blueprints.

+ Basic knowledge and safety understanding of electrical components.

+ Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and calculating percentages.

+ Skill in using a personal computer and various software applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

+ Ability to operate a forklift, scissors lift, or any other powered equipment or machinery as needed.

+ Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

+ Ability to consistently practice and enforce safe working habits.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Associate’s degree or higher in Mechatronics, Electrical, Welding or similar fields preferred.

+ Previous experience working with VFD’s (Variable Frequency Drive) preferred.

+ Welding experience preferred.

Work Environment

Work in a brand new chicken processing facility that is highly automated, processing 1 million chickens in a 24-hour cycle. The facility is owned by a reputable company and offers excellent working conditions. Enjoy working on the 2nd shift from Monday to Friday, 2pm-10:30pm or on an overnight schedule from 6pm-6:30am with a 2,2,3 schedule. The environment is refrigerated, ranging from 45-50 degrees Fahrenheit, and requires wearing appropriate PPE as designated by company policy.

This is a Permanent position based out of Fremont, NE.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $70000.00/yr.
