    Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

    Job Description

    The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting equipment, primarily focusing on mechanical tasks but also involving some electrical work. Training will be provided for specific job duties.

    Responsibilities

    + Follow a preventive maintenance schedule and troubleshoot equipment/machinery during the shift.

    + Observe equipment in operation, using all senses to locate problems.

    + Examine parts and assemblies to identify changes in dimensions or imperfections.

    + Dismantle equipment to access damaged or worn parts, and repair or replace these parts as necessary.

    + Adjust functional parts to optimize performance and clearances.

    + Test equipment performance to ensure it meets standards.

    + Install power wiring and conduit for new equipment and connect and test power wires.

    + Troubleshoot electrical systems up to 480 volts using meters and test equipment.

    + Troubleshoot and program AC and DC drive systems, align motors to manufacturer specifications.

    + Replace faulty components such as boards and cables, and manage purchase requisitions and paperwork.

    + Test to ensure thorough corrective action and understand proper lockout/tagout procedures.

    + Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic parts or components.

    + Fabricate finished metal products from sheet piping or structural steel using MIG/TIG, brazing, cutting/burning, and stick welding.

    + Change extruder screws and barrels as per manufacturer recommendations.

    + Use metal shear, bender, band saw, and plasma cutter safely.

    + Follow all company safety rules and maintain good housekeeping in the Maintenance department and work area.

    Essential Skills

    + GED or high school diploma.

    + 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience or of a technical program or certifications.

    + Mechanical aptitude, including experience troubleshooting motors, pumps, and pneumatics.

    + 80/20 mechanical versus electrical skills.

    + Ability to read blueprints and schematics.

    + Experience with 480 volts.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + PLC troubleshooting is a plus.

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment is non-climate controlled. The position is for a third shift on a 2-2-3 schedule from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM with potential work on Saturdays. Employees may be required to work on-call, compensated at 1.5x pay rate for call-ins, and receive a minimum of 1.5x pay for two hours even if called in for only 20 minutes. After two hours of call-in work, compensation reverts to straight time.

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $56160.00/yr.

     

    They start earning PTO after 90 days and will get two weeks vacation after 1 year. Benefits go in effect the following month they start.

     

    Workplace Type

     

    This is a fully onsite position in Fremont,OH.
