Job Description
The Refrigeration Supervisor is responsible for planning, purchasing, organizing, coordinating, and auditing daily tasks related to refrigeration, boilers, and wastewater. The role involves coordinating environmental control activities, including managing air and water systems, and overseeing PSM processes and programs. This position requires collaboration with the parts inventory department to manage essential supplies. The supervisor will lead the refrigeration, boiler operator, and wastewater team to maintain the ammonia system, HVAC systems, boiler equipment, and wastewater, ensuring safety, reliability, budget compliance, environmental standards, and quality goals are met.
Responsibilities
+ Supervise, coach, train, and evaluate the refrigeration, boiler, and wastewater team.
+ Lead and develop the team to achieve department goals in facility maintenance and assist in capital improvements and budget management.
+ Evaluate and mitigate environmental hazards within the complex.
+ Ensure compliance with OSHA and PSM standards.
+ Provide suggestions for corrective actions in response to mechanical or technical defects.
+ Prioritize work orders and manage the maintenance workforce.
+ Maintain appropriate documentation for all work performed.
+ Participate in Hazmat operations and emergency preparedness.
+ Identify opportunities for improvement and communicate with leadership.
+ Enforce personnel, quality, and food safety policies.
+ Promote and enforce company safety policies.
+ Provide feedback to employees on their performance and attitude.
+ Communicate equipment issues and repair plans to supervisors and managers.
+ Attend required meetings and training sessions.
+ Coordinate with HR and other departments to resolve conflicts.
+ Manage employee timecards and time-off requests.
+ Perform employee disciplinary actions and documentation.
+ Complete additional duties as requested by management.
Essential Skills
+ Extensive experience with refrigeration systems and equipment.
+ Refrigeration license.
+ Strong troubleshooting and maintenance skills.
+ Knowledge of food safety programs, including HACCP, SSOP’s, and GMP’s.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in poultry or other food processing plants is preferred.
+ Associates or Bachelor’s degree in electrical, refrigeration, or related field is preferred.
+ Licenses such as Refrigeration Operator 1 & 2, CIRO, CARO, or RETA are highly preferred.

Work Environment
The work environment is very clean, with varying temperatures and distinct smells. The position requires working night shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM on a rotating schedule of 2 days on, 2 days off, and 3 days on.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
