Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Homewood, Illinois. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills to manage high volumes of supplier invoices and ensure efficient payment processes. Responsibilities:

• Accurately enter supplier invoices into the company’s accounting system while maintaining a high level of efficiency.

• Investigate and resolve purchase order variances, including item, price, and quantity discrepancies.

• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Purchasing and Operations teams to streamline processes.

• Communicate effectively with suppliers regarding invoices, statements, and payment inquiries.

• Manage vendor accounts and ensure timely processing of invoices to meet payment deadlines.

• Assist with the automated document management system and support special projects when needed.

• Organize and prioritize workload to handle high volumes of invoices, approximately 300-400 daily.

• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.

• Investigate discrepancies in workflow and implement solutions to ensure accuracy.

• Maintain proper documentation and organize records for audits and reporting purposes.

The salary range for this position is $23 to $24/hr. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent; 3-5 years of Accounts Payable experience or a combination of education and relevant work experience.

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting is preferred but not required.

• Proficiency in accounting principles and practices.

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry tasks.

• Ability to manage a high volume of invoices and prioritize tasks effectively.

• Strong typing skills with speed and precision.

• Experience with Epicor or similar accounting software.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant computer applications.
