Description We are looking for a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Normandy Park, Washington. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring payroll operations run smoothly, accurately, and efficiently. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to process improvements and ensure compliance with labor contracts and tax regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Perform audits of payroll system configurations and processes to ensure compliance with labor contracts and tax regulations.

• Assist in bi-monthly payroll processing and serve as a backup to ensure timely and accurate payroll distribution.

• Update and maintain payroll manuals, develop standard operating procedures, and identify opportunities for process optimization.

• Lead initiatives to transition payroll operations to a fully paperless system.

• Analyze and correct taxability settings, benefits setup, deductions, and accruals within the payroll system.

• Conduct a comprehensive review of Vision Payroll and collaborate with the team to enhance internal controls.

• Reconcile benefit costs and implement streamlined processes for improved efficiency.

• Prepare quarterly 941 filings and ensure alignment with annual W-2 reporting.

• Facilitate year-end payroll preparation to guarantee accurate W-2 issuance.

• Support the setup and management of payroll cost allocation processes. Requirements • Proven experience in full-cycle payroll processes, including multi-state payroll.

• Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now or similar payroll software.

• Strong knowledge of payroll operations for organizations with over 500 employees.

• Familiarity with taxability settings, benefits management, and compliance with labor contracts.

• Ability to audit payroll systems and recommend improvements.

• Experience with transitioning payroll systems to paperless operations.

• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams.
