    Job Description:

    Position Overview

    The Order-to-Cash Project Leader drives the planning, coordination, and execution of high-impact initiatives that enable greater effectiveness and efficiency within the Order-to-Cash (O2C) process. This includes order intake through PK, shipment initiation, invoicing, and post-order claims and issue resolution. The role will have a specific focus on EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) while also addressing process breakdowns such as manual steps, holds, BOT issues, and logistical inefficiencies across the O2C workflow.

     

    This individual will partner closely with Sales Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and IT teams to deliver projects that streamline workflows, enhance automation, and improve customer experience. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and problem solver with a solid understanding of operational processes and a working knowledge of EDI and related technologies.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of Order-to-Cash process improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with business priorities and timelines.

    + Build and manage detailed project plans, charters, and governance documents, drive accountability across project teams.

    + Facilitate project meetings, prepare agendas, capture action items, and communicate updates clearly to stakeholders.

    + Provide visibility into project status, risks, and achievements through regular reporting tailored for leadership.

    + Identify bottlenecks and manual breakdown points in O2C processes (e.g., EDI failures, order holds, BOT issues, manual communications) and design sustainable improvements.

    + Collaborate with IT and business teams to enhance EDI capabilities and ensure seamless integration with operational workflows.

    + Lead the development and maintenance of EDI policies, onboarding guides, and support documentation for Sales, CSC, Finance, and external partners.

    + Translate technical and operational issues into clear business impact for leadership decision-making.

    + Establish metrics to track progress and measure outcomes, focusing on efficiency gains and documented cost/time savings.

    + Drive adoption and integration of new processes and systems through change management principles, consistent follow-up, communication, and training.

    + Coach and mentor cross-functional partners in project fundamentals, building capability and accountability across the organization.

    Qualifications

    Required:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

    + Strong understanding of Order-to-Cash processes and related operational workflows.

    + Familiarity with EDI concepts and ability to collaborate with technical teams on EDI-related improvements.

    + Demonstrated success leading cross-functional projects in a fast-paced environment.

    + Strong project management skills, including scheduling, risk management, and stakeholder communication.

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to build credibility and influence across teams at all levels.

    Preferred:

    + 3–5 years of project management or continuous improvement experience in operational or supply chain environments.

    + Experience with ERP systems and EDI platforms.

    + Knowledge of Milwaukee ordering and shipment processes.

    + Experience working with Distributor and/or Supplier contacts to understand their needs and communication styles.

    + Prosci, PMP, PMI, or Six Sigma certification.

    + Experience with automation tools and process analytics.
