GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Provide full-time unsupervised on-site support operating and maintaining the Joint Theater Air-to-Ground Simulation Systems (JTAGSS), Airborne Warning and Control Systems (AWACS), Airborne Surveillance Command and Control (ASC2), and/or Theater Air Control System (TACS) training and ground systems and networks; operate and maintain C2ISR system hardware and software; perform limited analysis to determine system viability and accuracy. Log and report system issues so corrective measures can be conducted; explore, research, and develop methods to expand training opportunities to fully exploit the capabilities of the C2ISR System; coordinate and de-conflict training events and schedules so the training objectives programmed for the C2ISR System can be achieved. Instruct, train and oversee assigned Training System Engineer I personnel in all facets of C2ISR System operations as directed. Maintain Department of Defense (DoD) 8140 Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level 2 certification.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
White Force Support
+ Act as a trusted agent for simulation scenarios and exercises
+ Familiar with and use the most current Air Force and MCM 3-1 Multi-Service Brevity Code Word Standards, NATO employment standards and communication, and dialogue IAW AFI 11-214, AFTTP 3-1, AFTTP 3- 3, and ACP 125
+ Use Fighter Air to Air Tactics, Air to Ground Delivery Tactics, and be familiar with Surface to Air Missile types and capability
+ Responsible for simulator operations including receiving and monitoring weapons information for use in the mission simulator scenario, acting as a friendly pilot, responding to weapons guidance information from a weapons director by entering data to maneuver the simulated controlled interceptor aircraft accordingly, and acting as an adversary pilot maneuvering adversary aircraft in accordance with current Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures Understand how external agencies interact with the E3, such as an Air Operations Center, Command and Reporting Center, Air Defense Artillery
+ Ability to logically input downed aviator (Personal Recovery scenario) injects, build civilian airline (Background traffic), incorporate UN flights, etc.
+ Assist the customer during the training sessions to maximize each training experience
+ Attend Combat Air Force Weapons and Tactics Conferences and briefings
Exercise Director
+ Orchestrate the mission crew scenario to ensure desired learning objectives (DLOs) occur
+ Attend pre & post mission briefings
+ Accept real time injects and insert them into the scenario to meet new DLOs or ensure established DLOs occur
+ Safeguard all classified material in their care
+ Provide mission crews simulated mission documents and information as identified by the Subject Matter Expert (SME) required to mission plan and successfully conduct the simulation event including (but not limited to) Air Tasking Order (ATO), Airspace Control Order (ACO), OPTASKLINK, Special Instructions (SPINS), and Operation Plans (OPLANS)
+ Provide comments on suggested customer changes to technical manual procedures
+ Other tasking and duties as assigned
Scenario Developer Support
+ Design scenarios using the most current realistic flying characteristics and capabilities of US and foreign airborne platforms
+ Develop, produce, update, maintain, and deliver Mission Simulator Training Packages (MSTP), classified and unclassified, to generate AWACS and other mission simulator events in support of VTTC and AWACS mission crew training
+ Provide scenario developer support of generation of AWACS mission simulator events as required
+ Be familiar with and use the most current Air Force standard mapping device (i.e. JMPS), and have the capability, experience, and knowledge of Continental United States (CONUS) and overseas operational missions and exercises
+ Be capable of providing positional training including mission crew, position-unique academic, and hands-on support for IQT, MQT, UGT, and CT. Special taskings may include equipment and operational procedures, tests and evaluations, higher headquarters special tasking, and Stan/Eval evaluations.
+ Utilize tools including ASCOT Scenario Data Management Data Tool (SDMT), ASCOT MAP, ASCOT TD, SPI, PLEXSYS’s Sonomarc and PlexComm for communication support
+ Understand and work with the government’s Mission Planning Computer, PLEES, AWS-Sim, PAD, and Frequency Management tool
+ Scenario build support areas include the Continental United States (CONUS) and overseas operational missions, exercises, and spin up areas of operations.
+ Develop, produce, update, maintain, and deliver for each MSTP all mission planning materials (Classified and Unclassified) necessary to plan and execute each scenario to include scenario supported scripts
+ Maintain the MSTP Catalog computer file and inventory
+ Track trends and note product improvement initiatives.
+ Provide comments on suggested customer changes to technical manual procedures
+ Other tasking and duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
+ Must have or be able to obtain a Top-Secret clearance and approval for SAP/SCI/SAR access
+ Qualified on all required PLEXSYS products within 6 months
+ Associate
Degree or higher in a technical area or technical training in computer systems or high- technology related field
+ Ability to communicate with internal and external customers effectively both oral and written
DESIRABLE
+ Specialized computer training in mission planning and/or database management products
+ Seven to ten years of military experience in Aerospace Command and Control
+ Extensive knowledge of AWACS, TACS, and various weapons systems
+ C2ISR surveillance experience
+ C2ISR weapons experience
+ C2ISR Electronic Warfare experience
