    Description

    The Nursing Clinical Education Coordinator supports student success by identifying suitable clinical partners and providing training to clinical faculty and students on evidence-based teaching strategies.

     

    Examples of Duties

     

    + Develops and manages partnerships with hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and other clinical agency sites for nursing students to complete clinical rotations

    + Renews and/or terminates contracts between ACCC and clinical sites, based on alignment with clinical objectives (Contracts written by Chief Business Officer)

    + Facilitates recruitment, selection and training of clinical faculty (preceptors) used in assigned student clinical placements for all program tracts;

    + Manages relationships with existing clinical agency partners to ensure student and clinical site satisfaction, as well as successful clinical experiences for nursing students

    + Identifies and assesses concerns related to clinical experiences; facilitates appropriate intervention with faculty

    + Identifies the number of clinical placements for all program tracts needed each semester, in accordance with the curriculum and expected enrollment

    + Identifies potential healthcare partners for clinical placements and initiates communication with appropriate individuals at the healthcare partners

    + Maintains a database with clinical faculty contact information, placement confirmation, and compliance with agency-specific requirements

    + Develops innovative partnerships with hospital educators and leadership to provide educational services and cultivate relationships to source potential full and part-time faculty.

    + Maintains complete knowledge and understanding of Atlantic Cape’s Practical Nursing curriculum and programs and clearly explains to clinical partners

    + Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and committee work as necessary.

    + Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director or administration.

    + Assist in lab with student skills

    + Assist program with ATI, Evolve, and other nursing software

    Typical Qualifications

    Education and Experience:

    + Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.

    + Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey.

    + Minimum of two (2) years of clinical nursing experience.

    + Previous teaching experience in nursing education (classroom, lab, or clinical).

    + Proficiency with educational technology and program software a plus (e.g., ATI, Evolve).

    + Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

    Preferred:

    + Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or currently enrolled in an MSN program.

    + Experience with practical nursing education or allied health program administration.

    + Familiarity with accreditation processes and New Jersey Board of Nursing regulations

    + Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to multitask

    + Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

     

    Supplemental Information

     

    Terms of Employment

     

    + Position requires flexible scheduling to include teaching day, evening, and weekend sections at any Atlantic Cape location. This is a part time position, 20 hours per week, up to 26 hours weekly.

     

    Paid sick leave in accordance with NJ Sick Leave Law

     

    Defined Contribution Retirement Program (DCRP) (https://www.nj.gov/treasury/pensions/pension-active-dcrp.shtml)

     

    Eligible part-time employees will be enrolled into the DCRP (Defined Contribution Retirement Plan) pension (https://www.nj.gov/treasury/pensions/pension-active-dcrp.shtml) . Employees contribute 5% of their base salary and the college contributes 3% of base salary. Investment options are managed through Prudential Retirement. Life insurance benefits through DCRP are payable to the beneficiary at 1.5X the member's salary.
