    Travel Air GDS Expert – 100% Remote | Long-Term Contract

     

    Are you a Global Distribution System (GDS) expert with a passion for optimizing air travel programs? We’re looking for a seasoned professional to lead air booking operations, fare strategy, and system configuration for a major enterprise travel program.

    Key Responsibilities

    + GDS Operations & Air Booking Management

    + Create and manage domestic/international air reservations using Sabre and Apollo/Galileo.

    + Issue, reissue, refund, and troubleshoot tickets, including complex itineraries.

    + Perform advanced fare construction and resolve pricing discrepancies.

    + Fare Optimization & Pricing Strategy

    + Monitor fare trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.

    + Analyze fare filings, combinability rules, and commission structures.

    + Provide strategic recommendations for booking-class optimization.

    + Airline Contracting & Negotiation

    + Support negotiations for corporate airline agreements and private fares.

    + Ensure negotiated fares are properly filed and utilized.

    + Agency Branch Setup & System Maintenance

    + Configure GDS systems (PCCs, duty codes, queues, security settings).

    + Oversee workflow optimization and compliance with IATA and ARC/BSP standards.

    + Cross-Functional Collaboration

    + Partner with travel consultants, finance, and operations teams.

    + Deliver training and reporting on savings, performance, and ticketing accuracy.

    Required Skills & Qualifications

    + 5+ years of advanced GDS experience (Sabre, Amadeus, or Galileo required).

    + Expertise in fare construction, optimization, and ticketing.

    + Experience with airline fare negotiation and corporate contracting.

    + Hands-on GDS branch setup and configuration experience.

    + Strong analytical and communication skills.

    Preferred:

    + TMC or corporate travel.

    + Familiarity with mid-office/back-office systems and QC tools.

    + GDS certifications and experience with travel data tools (MIDT, ARC, PRISM).

    This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
