The Division of Education and Leadership (DEL) in the College of Arts and Sciences at Shenandoah University seeks a dynamic and dedicated individual to serve as Director of Licensure & Accreditation and Assistant Professor of Leadership. This is a full-time graduate faculty benefited position located near SU’s main campus in Winchester, VA.
Position Responsibilities
+ Serve as the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) liaison/licensure officer for SU’s Educator Preparation Provider (EPP).
+ Lead accreditation and accountability cycles, including CAEP self-studies, annual measures, site-visit planning and logistics, and ongoing documentation in collaboration with DEL faculty and P–12 partners.
+ Manage Title II reporting and ensure accuracy and timely submission of all state and federal compliance reports.
+ Supervise licensure and field operations in coordination with relevant DEL staff and faculty leads.
+ Coordinate assessment and data processes (e.g., instruments, dashboards, timelines) and steward continuous improvement across the EPP.
+ Teach graduate courses in Leadership (face-to-face, hybrid, and online as scheduled).
+ Chair and serve on doctoral dissertation committees; advise and mentor graduate students.
+ Engage in collegial service at the program, division, college, and university levels (e.g., committees, program development, recruitment).
+ Maintain a focused scholarly agenda consistent with graduate faculty expectations.
Required Skills
+ Earned a doctorate (EdD or PhD) in Educational Leadership or a closely related field by the start date.
+ Eligibility for graduate faculty status and ability to chair doctoral dissertations.
+ Working knowledge of VDOE licensure regulations and CAEP standards, or demonstrated capacity to learn them rapidly with structured onboarding.
+ Demonstrated college-level teaching experience (in-person and/or online).
+ Proven accuracy in compliance/data tasks (e.g., reports, spreadsheets, timelines) and strong professional communication and collaboration skills.
