Responsibilities
Family Medicine Faculty Program Preceptor / Core Faculty Duties and Responsibilities
• Support the program leadership in developing, implementing, and assessing curriculum.
• Assess residents’ progress toward achievement of competence in and the autonomous practice of the specialty.
• Provide clinical teaching and supervision of residents.
• Regularly provide feedback (written and verbal) to the residents.
• Serve in the role of advisor to 3-4 residents per academic year.
• Complete all assigned evaluations and GME administrative tasks in a timely manner.
• Demonstrate a strong interest in the education of residents, including devoting sufficient time to the educational program to fulfill supervisory and teaching responsibilities.
• Participate in non-clinical activities related to resident education and program administration, including, but not limited to: (1) interviewing and selecting resident applicants, (2) providing didactic instruction at least once a block, (3) mentoring residents, (4) simulation exercises, (5) completing the annual ACGME Faculty Survey, and (6) participating on the program’s Clinical Competency Committee, Program Evaluation Committee, and other GME committees.
• Role model professionalism.
• Demonstrate commitment to the delivery of safe, equitable, high-quality, cost-effective, patient-centered care.
• Pursue faculty development designed to enhance skills at least annually: (1) as educators and evaluators, (2) in quality improvement, eliminating health inequities, and patient safety, (3) in fostering their own and residents’ well-being, and (4) in patient care based on their practice-based learning and improvement efforts.
• Complete at least one scholarly activity with or without residents per year.
• Meet regularly with the program director for collaboration and to give and receive feedback.
Responsible for providing appropriate primary and continuing care to all patient in Garnet Health Medical Center as well as leadership, coordination and administration. The Physician is a partner in an interdisciplinary team of primary care givers and administrative support staff to perform assigned duties while displaying the highest of standards of ethical and moral conduct as well as acting in the best interest of Garnet Health Medical Center, supporting our mission, vision and values to optimize the health and well-being of our patients.

Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The range for the role is $279,789 through $323,652 annually. The range or contractual rate listed may not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits. When determining a team member’s compensation and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
