Job Description
Reporting to the Director of the Connors Family Learning Center (CFLC) and working closely with the Testing Services Administrator, the Testing Services Assistant plays an integral role by coordinating the logistics of alternative testing services among faculty, staff, and students. CFLC proctors more than 6,000 exams per year for students with disabilities. All tasks require strong attention to detail, and an ability to work well with people in high-stress situations and with people at all levels of the university. The role requires a high-level of professional interaction with CFLC staff, student users, CFLC student employees, other members of the campus community, and visitors. The person in this role offers a number of key CFLC services and thus positive impressions are critical.
This is a full-time, 9-month academic year position, September through May.
Responsibilities
+ Coordinate CFLC Testing Center operations and scheduling of Test Center and front office staff between the hours of 12 and 8 p.m. Monday through Friday.
+ Assist with the organization and management of the testing process in the CFLC by processing student exam requests, acquiring exams from professors, printing exams, and communicating with campus partners about ADA access issues in testing.
+ Ensure the security of exam materials and administration.
+ Provide and maintain adaptive technology and alternative formats for testing needs, including staying abreast of emerging technologies, such as text-to-speech, speech-to-text, screen readers for people who are blind, video magnifiers, and digital text conversion.
+ Assist in the assembly of the annual report by tracking, compiling, maintaining, and ensuring the integrity of the CFLC testing database.
+ Maintain direct communication with students, CFLC staff, and course instructors in establishing effective test administration protocols by performing ongoing analysis of stakeholders' feedback, bench marking procedures, and applying new technologies and continuing education.
+ Communicate effectively and diplomatically with faculty, staff, and students in addressing CFLC testing guidelines and accommodation procedures.
+ Recommend procedural changes and policies to CFLC administrators.
Hiring Range: $27.47/hr to $34.34/hr. Pay rate commensurate with relevant experience.
Requirements
+ High school diploma required with 1-3 years of office support-related experience.
+ Preferred experience working with diverse learners (students with disabilities, adult learners, etc.)
+ Requires scheduling flexibility during peak exam periods, which will include work on one Saturday each semester.
+ Strong organizational and office management skills with attention to detail to ensure a high degree of accuracy.
+ Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with the College community and external contacts.
+ Quality verbal and written communications, database management, and records maintenance skills.
+ Demonstrate a high degree of tact, integrity, and confidentiality.
+ Ability and willingness to work with minimal direction and to anticipate and meet organizational needs. Persistence in seeking solutions to problems both within and beyond areas of direct responsibility.
+ Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Google Drive (Docs, Calendar) Google based email.
