Northrop Grumman is seeking a **Mechanical Technician, Level 2 or 3 (2nd Shift)** to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our **Test and Evaluation** organization. This role is located in **Melbourne, FL.**
In this hands-on technical role, you will be responsible for the operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of lab operations equipment. You will provide technical support and contribute to the development and improvement of our engineering processes.
Key Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
+ Performing assembly tasks using specific process requirements (bonding, drilling, torquing, etc) to support daily assignments.
+ Handling delicate flight hardware while using proper ESD and contamination control best practice.
+ Performing mechanical assembly using engineering drawings, CPLM/NX models, and process documents.
+ Performing bonding operations using various adhesives for thermal, electrical, and mechanical connections on structural assemblies.
+ Providing feedback to engineers and designers on producibility enhancements.
+ Operating and maintaining Ground Support Equipment.
**Work Schedule:** This position operates on a 2nd shift schedule, working Monday through Thursday from 2 PM to 12:30 AM. Please note that hours and shifts are subject to change to meet customer demand. A shift differential will be paid where applicable.
**Travel Requirements:** Travel is estimated to be less than 10%.
Basic Qualifications:
_This requisition may be filled at a_ **Mechanical Technician - Level 2** or **Mechanical Technician - Level 3** _level based on the qualifications below._
Mechanical Technician - Level 2
+ High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.
+ Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation) and the ability to obtain Special Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
+ Must be willing to obtain and maintain the appropriate medical clearance(s), as defined per the customer’s contracting requirements, for the duration of your employment.
+ Ability to wear a respirator or other safety gear
+ Ability to frequently move and position objects weighing 50lbs and work with hazardous-materials, in accordance with safety regulations.
+ Ability to operate company-owned motor vehicles
+ Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions and maintenance procedures.
Mechanical Technician - Level 3
+ High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
+ Expertise with aircraft maintenance or aerospace ground equipment.
+ Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and Atlassian
+ Experience in mechanical manufacturing or integration and test.
+ Experience working on flight hardware.

Primary Level Salary Range: $48,400.00 - $80,600.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $57,500.00 - $95,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
