    Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Systems sector is currently looking for a leader to support our Operations team as a **Manager General Manufacturing 1.** This leader will join our team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting our Mechanical Back shop and Machine shop on site at our **Melbourne, FL** location.

     

    A Manager General Manufacturing 1 is a professional responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of manufacturing processes to ensure efficient and timely production of aircraft parts and assemblies. This role involves managing a team of employees, implementing production schedules, ensuring quality standards are met, and optimizing production processes to minimize costs and maximize productivity. The Manager General Manufacturing 1 works closely with other departments to ensure that aircraft parts/assemblies are produced to meet customer demand, delivered on time, and meet the company's financial goals. They are also responsible for maintaining safe working conditions and complying with relevant regulations and industry standards. Overall, the Manager General Manufacturing 1 plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and effective functioning of the manufacturing and delivery process. The selected candidate must have highly effective interpersonal skills.

     

    Here in the mechanical back shop, our primary focus is to support rapid prototype and development along with some production. The selected candidate must be able to develop innovative solutions to difficult challenges.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    + The manager would be leading a team of 12-15 hourly machinists and aircraft painters.

    + Oversees the daily production and manufacturing aircraft parts and assemblies.

    + Coordinate and lead operations start up meeting.

    + Daily resource planning to meet customer/schedule demand.

    + Collaborate with production scheduling to meet schedule requirements.

    + Ensure tools, plans, people and material are available to complete assigned workload.

    + Report production Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to site leadership.

    + Perform root cause analysis for corrective actions on safety & quality incidents.

    + Mentor, train, and develop staff including performance management and corrective action.

    + Drive continuous improvement in safety, delivery, quality and cost.

    Basic Qualifications:

    + High School Diploma or equivalent GED and 4 years of related production experience in an aerospace, military, and/or manufacturing environment.

    + 1 year of leading projects or teams.

    + Experience with Shop floor management system (e.g. MES/SAP) or equivalent.

    + Ability to work any shift as needed by the business.

    + Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DOD) Secret clearance and Program Access (Classified programs) within a reasonable amount of time as required by the business.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Active DoD Secret Security Clearance investigated within the last 5 years.

    + Active Program Access

    + Experience in Aerospace industry.

    + Experience with CNC machines, water jets, flatbed routers, laser engravers, and/or similar back shop machines.

    + Experience utilizing NX, Mastercam, and/or Bobcat programming.

    + Experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)

    + Experience as supervisor or team lead in a rapid prototype and development environment.

    Primary Level Salary Range: $86,300.00 - $129,500.00

     

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

     

    Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
