The Inventory Control Excellence Manager leads strategic initiatives to ensure inventory integrity, operational consistency, and performance excellence across markets in any region(s) as assigned. This role partners with cross-functional teams including Finance, Field Operations, and IC Operations Excellence to drive process improvements, talent development, and adherence to best practices. The Director provides oversight and guidance to Inventory Control Managers (ICMs), Inventory Control Clerks (ICCs), and Driver Check In (DCI) teams, ensuring alignment with business goals and operational standards. This position plays a critical role in coaching, auditing, and standardizing inventory control processes while supporting enterprise-wide enhancements and capability building.
This position is remote with travel between 50-75% of the time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Lead root cause analysis and action planning with ICMs to address categories missing Business Plan (BP Targets)
+ Monitor the Inventory Adjustment (IA) tracker daily for completeness and accuracy.
+ Review Quantity Variances and collaborate with ICMs and Finance to ensure proper application by market.
+ Analyze Calculated Weight inbound and outbound opportunities and identify corrective actions for market-level discrepancies.
+ Conduct weekly reviews of inventory valuation reports (FI980 and FI930) to assess trends and anomalies.
+ Participate in the interview process for ICM, ICC, and DCI candidates to ensure talent alignment.
+ Coordinate training standards and materials across regions to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
+ Coach and train new ICMs and support ICC and DCI onboarding and development.
+ Conduct market visits to audit SOP adherence and inventory control processes.
+ Standardize reporting and file-sharing practices using current technologies and software platforms.
+ Drive standardization through process management to ensure consistent execution of inventory control practices across all markets.
+ Monitor adoption of key initiatives and ensure alignment with operational goals and performance expectations.
+ Monitor market inventory health play reports for compliance, commentary, corrective actions, and leadership sign offs.
+ Assist in auditing market controls to ensure inventory integrity and compliance.
+ Partner with the VPO to assess ICM performance and support talent development strategies.
+ Consult with IC Operations Excellence on process improvement initiatives and best practice deployment.
+ Support implementation of enhancements to inventory control processes and systems.
+ Train new Area Directors of Finance (ADFs) and Vice President of Operation (VPO) on inventory control functions and responsibilities
+ Attend weekly market IA calls to support underperforming markets and drive improvement.
+ Participate in weekly regional finance and operational calls to share insights, successes, and opportunities.
+ Participate in Region Focus Market Calls to guide progress on local performance initiatives.
+ Indirectly supports ICMs, ICC and DCI teams across assigned markets in any region(s).
RELATIONSHIPS
+ **Internal:** Regular collaboration with VPOs, Finance, IC Operations Excellence, Field Operations, Replenishment, Merchandising and HR
+ **External:** Technology vendors, audit partners, and external consultants supporting inventory control systems
WORK ENVIRONMENT
+ **Remote** : This role is fully remote, and the associate is expected to perform assigned responsibilities from a home-based environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
+ Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in inventory control, operations, or supply chain management experience
+ Experience leading multi-site teams and implementing enterprise-wide initiatives while guiding cross-functional groups.
+ Strong background in coaching, training, and performance management
+ Experience with financial systems and inventory valuation tools (FI980, FI930)
+ Strong track record of diagnosing and solving complex, multi-dimensional operational challenges.
+ Skilled at prioritizing and leading strategic, enterprise-wide initiatives that require coordination across team boundaries in large, multi-function, cross-geographic, matrixed organizations.
+ Experience identifying, implementing, and scaling operational best practices, including readiness assessments and effectiveness tracking.
+ Exceptional communication skills and experience influencing peers and senior leaders.
+ Strong background in change management, project governance, and cross-functional program execution
+ Travel requirement: 50- 75%

EDUCATION
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field required.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between
$85,000 - $140,000
