The Cloud, Network, and Digital Service Engineering department within MITRE Labs’ Infrastructure and Networking Innovation Center integrates expertise across networking, cloud computing, IT service management, and data analytics to address complex challenges critical to national well-being, security, and advancement. Our mission is to deliver premier engineering services across all classification levels, specializing in areas such as enterprise network engineering, network security, network modeling and simulation, infrastructure virtualization and containerization, cloud computing, and data science.
Our team combines research, innovation, and practical hands-on experience to design, analyze, and implement networks across diverse environments, including virtual, wired, optical, tactical wireless, cellular, and commercial wireless systems. By architecting, designing, and deploying cloud-based services, we support applications in web services, data analytics, and cybersecurity. We apply advanced technologies and multi-disciplinary approaches to solve network-related problems, reduce risks, and deliver impactful solutions for federal sponsors across national security, defense, public health, safety, and internal research and development domains.
Job Responsibilities may include:
+ Support the development and maintenance of software applications by contributing to coding, testing, debugging, and implementing best practices.
+ Assist with the setup, management, and monitoring of infrastructure and services, while collaborating on innovative solutions using various tools and technologies.
+ Participate in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, developing prototypes for systems and capabilities, and conducting performance assessments of technologies.
+ Analyze data to identify trends and anomalies, investigate security vulnerabilities, and evaluate risks to recommend mitigation strategies.
+ Work with teams to design architectures and frameworks, configure and validate services, and improve processes using industry principles and tools.
+ Communicate technical findings and approaches through documentation, presentations, and demonstrations, while actively engaging in knowledge-sharing activities focused on emerging trends and advancements.
Basic Qualifications:
+ Must be a full-time student pursuing an accredited degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related disciplines.
+ Must continue to be enrolled the semester following the Co-op.
+ Foundational knowledge of computer science and/or software engineering methodologies, frameworks, tools and/or programming languages.
+ Must have sustained excellence in academic performance.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience having applied computer science and/or software engineering learning to an internship, research or lab setting.
+ Proficiency using computer science and software engineering methodologies, frameworks, tools and/or programming languages.
+ Demonstrated interest in serving the public through previous work experience, volunteer activities, or other relevant engagements.

Salary compensation range and midpoint:
$45,500 - $57,000 - $68,500 Annual
