Description
Easterseals Iowa Director of Hospitalities and Facilities will provide leadership to ensure Easterseals facilities are a welcoming, safe, and clean environment for guests and team members alike.
Principle Accountabilities will include:
• Perform full range of leadership duties including, but not limited to: keep team members informed of and actively support agency activities, strategic goals and challenges; coach and counsel team members and ensure department is staffed with competent and qualified team members including filling in as needed; work with team members to ensure their personal and professional development; provide recognition for positive work performance and address performance concerns as needed; ensure compliance with agency policies.
• Ensure facilities are clean and welcoming to all guests and team members.
• Work closely with the Department Directors to maximize customer experience.
• Work closely with the Rental Coordinator to support rentals of property.
• Develop and coordinate an annual calendar that addresses beautification of facilities and preventative maintenance, including buildings, grounds, equipment, and vehicles.
• Communicate plans and execution of monthly projects and needs with team members to ensure customer needs can be met.
• Develop volunteer needs and communicate those needs on a quarterly basis with the development team. Ensure assigned volunteers are welcomed and supported.
• Develop and utilize feedback to improve customer experience.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors to ensure work is completed timely manner, and vendors are aware of the Easterseals mission and how they can be involved.
• Prepare the annual budget for supplies, repairs, and utilities. Ensure adequate supplies and accurate inventory.
• Schedule needed repairs, changes, or new equipment, including supply source and cost. Determine if an outside consultation or contractor is needed.
• Obtain quotes and hire contractors as needed to maintain the functionality of the campus.
• Ensure completion of authorized repairs and that buildings, grounds, vehicles, and equipment are in excellent operational condition.
• Maintain a full understanding of federal, state, and local laws, rules, and procedures for areas supervised and ensure compliance. Maintain records for all state, federal, and insurance inspections. Conduct semi-annual inspection of buildings.
• Maintain parking lots and sidewalks, such as snow removal and paving; coordinate contractors when needed.
• Ensure the cleanliness and landscaping of the buildings and grounds, vehicles, and equipment.
• Advise of accessibility issues and/or danger areas, present or near future, in buildings and grounds; serve as a member of the Safety Committee and other meetings as assigned
• Maintain positive relationships with outside organizations to ensure ongoing support of programs.
• Manage department on-call system for non-office hours and respond as assigned.
• Serves on the leadership and operations teams.
• Other duties as assigned.
We are seeking a full-time candidate to work Monday-Friday, standard business hours. Please note that mandatory on-call duties outside of these hours are a requirement of this role, which may include the ability to work non-traditional hours (outside normal office hours), including nights, weekends, and holidays.
The annual salary range for this position is $43,680 to $65,520.
The interview process consists of 1st phone interview with the Recruitment and Talent Development Coordinator and 2nd in-person interview with the Department Specifics Team Leader.
Those with past work history or experience with project management and delegation are required. Experience in maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, boiler operation, and carpentry, are required. Applicants with leadership in customer-focused services are preferred.

• Experience in restaurant or hotel management preferred.
• Leadership experience preferred.

• Experience with project management and delegation required.
• Ability to work cooperatively with a variety of people.
• Ability to work non-traditional hours, outside normal office hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and lift.
• Ability to transfer or move heavy objects, a high degree of physical stamina, and the ability to ambulate independently throughout buildings and grounds.
• Experience in maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, boiler operation, and carpentry, is preferred.
• Access to a telephone for the on-call system.
• Access to reliable transportation for regular participation in work.
• Possession of a valid Iowa Driver’s License and maintenance of a good driving record.
• Insurable under Easterseals vehicle insurance policy
Salary Description
$43,680.00- $65,520.00
