    Job Summary

    The Work Coordinator will be supporting Substation Maintenance and will coordinate and manage resources to satisfy job requirements timely in order to achieve maximum efficiencies and the timely completion of work. During standby will be supervising union workforce. Please note: Immigration assistance will not be supported now or in the future for this position.

    Job Responsibilities

    + Coordinate resources (internal personnel, vehicles, testing equipment, tools, and materials) to facilitate substation maintenance crews dispatch.

    + Review internal database systems and Tableau reports to monitor and prioritize work.

    + Prepare work packages including work permits, work order numbers, pre-check forms, reference documentation (tickets, one-line diagrams, prints), Storeroom material forms/orders, among others.

    + Order job-specific materials through internal warehouse system and external stores.

    + Organize and file job documentation, electronically and in paper format. These are but not limited to job briefs, vehicle inspection forms, tickets, trouble reports, commissioning paperwork, test results such as bite test, and thermovision images.

    + Collect, create and process crews timesheets.

    + Utilize SAP platform to create, release, and close work orders for substation maintenance activities.

    + Interpret electrical drawings and maps to create work permits (clearances), equipment releases, and coversheets through internal NRA system.

    + Interpret program schedules and collaborate with stakeholders from different disciplines to effectively plan and schedule not only substation maintenance jobs, but also equipment installation and commissioning substation projects.

    + Coordinate with materials management, engineering and other departments to ensure materials, parts, and equipment are available to meet schedules.

    + Manage and prioritize backlogged work (preventive maintenance jobs, corrective maintenance jobs, and capital projects) to optimize safety, efficiency, reliability, and financial goals.

    + During storm restoration: track, dispatch, and process outage jobs in OMS; be available for off-hours work (nights, weekends).

    + Supervise BU employees (internal work force and external contractor crews) during storm restoration events, standby periods during assigned supervisor rotation schedule for weekend Special Schedule crews, for daily contractor complements and during periods of supervisory absence.

    + Must possess a valid US driver's license with a safe driving history.

    Job Specific Qualifications

    + Associates degree with a minimum of 3 years equivalent work experience preferably in a process oriented function such as the following: billing, accounts receivable, administrative work or construction areas of a utility.

    + In lieu of degree, High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 5 years experience.

    + Knowledge and experience with electric transmission and distribution systems.

    + Existing knowledge of electric utility related work.

    + Experience in reading, interpreting and managing project and program schedules and relevant communications.

    + Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Access) and the ability to quickly learn new systems and applications.

    + Effective communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to interface and communicate with people at all levels and across organizations.

    + Demonstrated personal accountability and excellent organizational skills to deliver performance excellence.

    + A valid US driver's license with a safe driving history.

    + Ability to work off hours which may include working nights and/or weekends during storm restoration.

    + Department of Energy's regulation 10 CFR 810 is required.

    As an employee of PSEG Long Island, you should be aware that during storm/outage restoration efforts, you may be required to perform functions different from normal operations and work extended hours beyond your regular work schedule. You may also be required to work on premise or in an alternate location as directed by the company.

     

    For all roles, PSEGLI’s drug and alcohol testing program includes pre-employment testing, testing for cause, and post-incident/accident testing.

     

    Employees who are hired or transfer into a federally regulated role (including positions covered by USDOT, PHMSA, or NRC regulations) are subject to random drug and alcohol testing, inclusive of marijuana.
