Description
We are seeking a Cook to join our dynamic dietary team, to take part in preparing and serving meals forAmerica’s heroes – our Veterans, their spouses, and Gold Start parents!
This position is full time, 40 hours per week, and includes every weekend.
The Cook is responsible for safe food handling practices in accordance with sanitation/infection control and universal precaution procedures, preparation of lunch and dinner for the house, and assisting with the therapeutic nutritional needs of the residents. This position also assists the House Chef in working with the residents to develop the household menus and special food orders. Each household will always have various food items on hand that the residents may choose in lieu of the menu items.

Requirements
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ Experience in all phases of food service
+ Experience cooking in a healthcare setting preferred
+ Requires proficiency in spoken and written English.
+ Ability to understand and respond to residents’ needs and inquiries in English is required.
+ Ability to effectively understand and communicate verbally and in writing, in English, is required.
+ Basic computer skills
