    Job Description

    BAE Systems is seeking an on-site Systems Analyst to support our work as a prime contractor on a high-profile U.S. Navy weapon system. This role requires an experienced IT professional with a strong foundation in diverse technologies, who is able to communicate effectively with stakeholders of all levels. This hybrid position, at Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC., has mandatory in office collaboration days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and a third day each week as discussed with your manager.

     

    This position will be responsible for working with United States (US) and United Kingdom (UK) customers to enhance the collaboration between the US and UK Governments by deploying enhanced IT capabilities. The systems analyst will be a key contact to gather and analyze the requirements for the enhanced capabilities.

    Key responsibilities are to:

    + Serves as the interface between the UK customer and internal teams, translating mission requirements into actionable technical requirements

    + Translate strategic objectives into tactical objectives for the Information Technology Teams

    + Gather, analyze, and document IT requirements

    + Support the testing and validation of IT solutions

    + Acts as the key point of contact for the UK customer to ensure IT issues are tracked and resolved

    + Prepare written documentation on capabilities and present them to stakeholders

    + Prepare and deliver presentations on capabilities and project statuses

    + Travel to various facilities within the US and UK to collaborate with partners and gather requirements and validation systems

    Our organization has supported the U.S. Navy s Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) continually since the program s inception in the 1950s. SSP developed the first sea-based, underwater-launched Strategic Weapon System (SWS), a defense system that is truly critical to our national security. For more than six decades, SSP has maintained and upgraded this weapon system and we have been there every step of the way. The sea-based SWS is the ultimate stealthy weapon system and is the first leg of the U.S. nuclear triad. With over 70% of our nation s nuclear arsenal its importance to maintaining world peace cannot be overstated. The development of Columbia, the most advanced nuclear-powered, nuclear-armed submarine ever designed, as well the next D5LE2 weapon system is under way and will begin to be rolled out over the next decade. The Navy projects this system to be operational through 2084, meaning the program will have a total life span of more than 120 years. This is a unique program and BAE Systems employees on this program understand they are part of an important legacy.

    Required Education, Experience, & Skills

    BAE has found that success in this position requires:

    + Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or related degree; OR equivalent position with related work experience.

    + At least 6 years of position related work experience or 10 years without a bachelor s degree

    + Proven experience eliciting, documenting, and validating functional and non-functional requirements from business and technical stakeholders.

    + Ability to translate high-level mission needs into detailed system specifications and user stories.

    + Ability to create process flows, requirements traceability matrices, and technical analysis reports

    + Working knowledge of cross-domain collaboration technologies, secure information sharing solutions, and enterprise collaboration platforms

    + Understanding of cybersecurity principles, data classification, access control, and secure information exchange across national boundaries

    + Experience working within structured project frameworks

    + Ability to maintain requirements baselines, track changes, and ensure proper stakeholder alignment

    + Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess IT challenges, identify root causes, and propose feasible solutions

    + Ability to maintain clear and organized documentation that supports both US and UK collaboration objectives

    + Solid knowledge of networking principals and best practices

    + Self-starter that takes the initiative to get tasks completed

    + An IAT II certification as specified in the DoD 8570

    + Or, have a SECNAV 5239 qualifying degree AND meet the requirements for an IAT II as specified in the DoD 8570 within 6 months of start date

    + Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC), badge access to the customer s facility, and a SSP network account in good standing

    Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

    + Master s degree in IT related field

    + Experience working in a DoD Environment

    + Understanding of integration challenges between US and UK defense IT environments is a plus.

     

    Pay Information

     

    Full-Time Salary Range: $115779 - $196825

     

    Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
