    Job Description

    A customer is seeking a fully remote Postgres DBA.

     

    - Act as the PostgreSQL Subject Matter Expert (SME) across the organization, leading architecture, performance tuning, automation, and high-availability strategies

     

    - Lead end-to-end migration efforts from Oracle to PostgreSQL/AlloyDB — including assessment, schema conversion, data transformation, validation, and tuning

     

    - Design, implement, and manage PostgreSQL clusters in Google Cloud (AlloyDB, Cloud SQL)

     

    - Automate key administrative tasks using Python, Bash, Ansible, Terraform, and integrate with CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery and change management.

     

    - Can pay $55-60/h

    Skills and Requirements

     

    - 10+ years of progressive database administration experience, with 5+ years of deep hands-on PostgreSQL experience in production environments.

     

    - Proven success leading Oracle-to-PostgreSQL or Oracle-to-AlloyDB migration programs in enterprise-scale settings.

     

    - Expertise in Google Cloud Platform (AlloyDB, Cloud SQL, IAM, VPC, GCS) with working experience in AWS RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL.

     

    - Proficiency in SQL optimization, query tuning, indexing, and storage architecture

     

    - Solid foundation in Linux system administration, network troubleshooting, and security compliance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, SOC2).
