    PDS Tech Commercial is hiring experienced **Aircraft Mechanics** to support a premier aerospace partner on critical JAWACS modification and maintenance programs. This is your opportunity to play a central role in supporting U.S. defense operations by performing complex electrical work that keeps highly specialized aircraft mission-ready.     Position Overview

    **Job Type:** Full-Time; Consultant (8 months)

    **Location:** San Antonio, TX

    **Schedule:** Monday–Friday; Varies based on business need but core hours for now will be 1st shift. Candidates are required to be available to work any shift.

    Time: 5:30 am – 2: 00 pm

    **Pay Rate:** $43.05/hr ($37.96 + $5.09 H&W)

    **PPE Required:** Safety-toed shoes, eye protection; ability to lift 35 lbs

     

    What You’ll Do

    As an Aircraft Mechanic on our JAWACS program, you will:

    + Perform on-aircraft and off-aircraft electrical modifications to wiring and system components.

    + Complete complex connector terminations, including shielded wires, coaxial cables, and fiber optics.

    + Route, seal, wrap, bond, tie, and secure wire harnesses and cables in accordance with standard procedures.

    + Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, retrofit instructions, and specifications.

    + Install, assemble, inspect, and modify wire bundles and electrical assemblies.

    + Troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft electrical and environmental systems at the organizational or depot level.

    + Conduct bench and flight-line operational testing in line with DOD, company, and manufacturer directives.

    + Work safely with Hazardous Energy and Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.

    + Assist, train, and occasionally lead junior team members.

    + Prioritize tasks to meet project schedules and support mission requirements.

    + Use precision measurement tools to verify dimensions and quality compliance.

    + Support other functional areas such as General Mechanics, Structures, and Avionics as needed.

    Required Qualifications

    + 4+ years of experience performing aircraft electrical/electronic system work as described above.

    + Strong understanding of electrical/electronic theories and system operations.

    + Ability to work rotating and variable shifts.

    + High school diploma or GED.

    + **Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.**

     

    This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Experience with depot-level or modification maintenance.

    + Ability to operate forklifts, mobile cranes, and electric-powered elevating equipment.

    Physical Requirements and Work Conditions

    + Ability to climb vertical ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift 35 lbs.

    + Frequent walking, standing, balancing, overhead reaching, and exposure to noise.

    + Occasional climbing of 3–12 ft ladders, crawling, squatting, and bending.

    + Must pass visual acuity and color perception tests.

    + Use of PPE for eyes, ears, hands, and arms as required.

    + Ability to handle and dispose of hazardous materials safely.

    + Must obtain and maintain all required training certifications.

    **Pay Details:** $43.05 per hour
