    Scope of work

     

    Assumes shift accountability for managing, supervising, and coordinating the operational and financial effectiveness and efficiency of the nursing service/ unit of the hospital. Some service lines may require the ability to be available for on-call to better support the nursing service/unit. Additionally, Inpatient Supervisors may be required to fill-in for the hospital supervisor as needed. Key responsibilities include assisting with the following: clinical support, unit-based goal setting, program development, fiscal management, resource allocation, standards of care, policy and procedure development and interpretation, performance improvement, performance correction, and coaching and mentoring.

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) Required.

    + Master's Degree nursing (MSN) Preferred.

    + 2 years of relevant clinical nursing experience Required.

    + 2 years of relevant experience recent relevant leadership (i.e., Charge Nurse, Shared Leadership position, Magnet Champion, QSO) (based on Corewell Health entity) Preferred.

    + MI RN license Required.

    + AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.

    + AHA Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) 180 days Required.

    + Corewell Health Nurse Supervisors are REQUIRED to obtain their Nursing Administration or Professional/Specialty Certification within 12 months of assuming the role, or within 12 months of achieving eligibility to sit for the exam if not eligible upon hire into the role.
