Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

As part of Media Group’s Decision Sciences team, the Senior Analyst, Data Governance (Operational Compliance) will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring that Data Governance standards and controls are honored across our portfolio of Media Group brands. In this role, you will be asked to support business and commercial needs while navigating a complex, multi-jurisdictional regulatory environment. This involves not only comprehending unique business-level requirements but also ensuring that data governance practices align with those commercial objectives in compliant ways. You will work closely with these stakeholders to develop strategies that balance business goals with regulatory constraints, ensuring that data is managed effectively and ethically. Your ability to interpret and apply regulatory guidelines in a way that supports business innovation and growth will be crucial to your success in this role.
This position will work closely with the Senior Manager, Data Governance in Decision Sciences on operational compliance programs and strategies. You will also collaborate regularly with Privacy Legal Counsel and Data Engineering teams to responsibly and proactively implement key governance strategies in secure data sharing platforms. This triage and oversight will help the Data Governance team better monitor use and processing of consumer data in those same secure data sharing platforms.
Responsibilities include:
+ Ensuring adherence to data protection laws and regulations that govern the collection, storage, and use of personal data, such as the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), the Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule (COPPA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the Video Privacy Protection Act (VPPA).
+ In partnership with the Senior Manager and other relevant Data Governance team members, perform key program duties including:
+ + Develop and execute the Media Group’s Clean Room Governance framework, establishing best practices and policies for secure and compliant collaboration
+ Implement (and monitor adherence to) policies and standards for data sharing programs that serve the Media Group’s many internal and external partners
+ Partner with cross-functional stakeholders — including Data Engineering, Legal, Cyber, and Business — to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and organizational objectives
+ Close collaboration with business, technology, information security, and customer experience teams to deliver consistent, practical-minded Data Governance guidance and support
+ Introduce quality, monitoring, and protection KPIs to measure against Data Governance objectives and policies
+ Prepare for and respond to internal and external audits and regulatory inquiries, ensuring that all documentation and data governance practices are compliant with such standards
Basic Requirements:
+ 3+ years of technical experience with software management and/or analytics platforms (e.g., Snowflake, PowerBI, Tableau) – specific exposure to real-time data environments is a plus
+ 2+ years of working with compliance-related matters (e.g., privacy and security standards, consumer protection risks, marketing regulations)
+ 2+ years of proven experience designing and implementing data governance frameworks and controls in cloud-based environments – preferably with a focus on consumer data in a large media organization
+ 1+ years of project management experience
+ 1+ years of relationship management experience – proficiency coordinating with internal and external stakeholders a plus
+ BA/BS in a related field.
Desired Characteristics:
+ Experience working successfully with stakeholders and partner teams to translate business needs into compliant governance models
+ Strong analytical, technical, and organizational skills to troubleshoot issues, analyze the cause, propose possible solution(s), consult with Data Governance leadership, document proposed changes, and communicate such changes to brand stakeholders
+ Enthusiasm and aptitude for learning new skills
+ Ability to collaborate and work in partnership with different parts of the organization and a diverse set of stakeholders
+ Ability to manage multiple workstreams with limited oversight
+ Experience within the media or entertainment industry is highly preferred
+ Professional certifications in data governance, or privacy
Additional Requirements:
+ Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
+ Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, which currently requires contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Beginning January 5, 2026, hybrid employees will be required to work from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
