GENERAL FUNCTIONS

The Student Engagement Transportation Assistant will assist the Director of Student Engagement & Inclusion (SE&I) in providing activities and services through the Student Engagement and Inclusion Office and other campus life facilities. These services include safe operation of college-owned vehicles to transport students. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

The following are typical responsibilities associated with this position. The specific responsibilities may vary and will be assigned accordingly by the supervisor.

+ Assist in supporting the overall function, vision, and mission of the Student Engagement and Inclusion Office.

+ Coordinate and support transportation needs for campus programs, student activities, and special events.

+ Safely operate college-owned vehicles to transport students, staff, and guests to and from various on- and off-campus locations.

+ Conduct routine vehicle safety inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness.

+ Ensure compliance with all traffic laws, safety regulations, and college transportation policies

+ Assist in planning, coordinating, and implementing campus-wide events and activities.

+ Support para-professional training and development for student workers or campus event staff.

+ Oversee Student Union operations during extended hours (evenings and weekends).

+ Provide logistical support for campus events, including transportation setup, room preparation, and coordination of event materials.

+ Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Requirements:

EDUCATION

Associate's degree preferred

EXPERIENCE

Experience working on a college campus, preferably in student services, transportation, or campus life.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must demonstrate strong people and customer service skills, as well as effective oral and written communication abilities. Must have a valid driver's license. A clean driving record is required.

RELATIONSHIPS:

This position reports directly to the Director of Student Engagement and Inclusion.

SALARY AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

This is a part-time position at 19 hours per week and is compensated at a rate of $18.29 per hour. Incumbent must have the ability to work flexible hours. Hours and compensation are set by the Genesee Community College Association (GCCA).
