    Posting Description

    TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE II, Biological Engineering, to serve as a member of a cutting-edge research team developing advanced therapeutics, vaccines, and materials using synthetic nucleic acids. The successful candidate will perform independent research to support solid-phase DNA & RNA synthesis using an automated nucleic acid synthesizer; nucleic acid conjugation; and purification. They will conduct quantitative nucleic acid analyses using HPLC, mass spectrometry, PCR, and electrophoresis. They will also be responsible for ordering lab supplies and reagents; and coordinating lab operations, safety compliance, protocol development, and equipment maintenance.

    Job Requirements

    REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry or related field; a minimum of four years of specialized lab experience in research or industry, with expertise in solid-phase nucleic acid synthesis, purification, and biochemical analysis; must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to plan, execute, and troubleshoot experiments independently; strong organizational and communication skills, with a commitment to maintaining precise documentation; must adapt to evolving lab needs and work both independently and collaboratively; ability to follow complex protocols and conduct independent research; willingness to learn new techniques and occasionally work evenings or weekends, as needed. No travel required. PREFERRED: Master’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related technical field. Strong interest in a long-term role, contributing to the continuity and success of the lab’s ongoing research initiatives.
