    Reporting to the Director of Pharmaceutical Services, you will serve as the designated person as the IVAS Regulatory Supervisor, responsible for managing and overseeing all sterile compounding compliance, operations, and staff within the inpatient pharmacy's IVAS practice area. You will provide direct supervision to pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, maintain workflow efficiency, ensure adherence to institutional and departmental policies, and lead compliance with USP <795>, <797>, and <800> standards. You will oversee all environmental monitoring, cleanroom/hood certification, onboarding, annual competencies, and departmental regulatory readiness.

    Activities will include:

    + Performing audits and ensuring compliance with all sterile compounding regulatory requirements, including USP <795>, <797>, and <800>

    + Leading surveys and recertification processes for sterile compounding across the institution

    + Overseeing onboarding, training, orientation checklists, and annual competencies for all IVAS staff

    + Reviewing, implementing, and communicating departmental policies and procedures related to sterile compounding and regulatory standards

    + Providing education to pharmacy, nursing, and medical staff on sterile compounding policies and procedures

    + Identifying best practices from ISMP, USP, The Joint Commission, and other safety organizations and assessing UCLA Health's compliance

    + Supervising pharmacists and technicians, ensuring completion of workload in an accurate and timely manner

    + Functioning as Administrator-On-Call and attending departmental meetings

    + Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory bodies including The Joint Commission, California Board of Pharmacy, CDPH, DEA, and FDA

    Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday (Onsite)

     

    Annual Salary Range: $144,400.00 - $341,800.00

    Qualifications

    We're seeking a highly skilled clinical leader with:

    + Current California Pharmacist licensure

    + PharmD degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy

    + 7 years of hospital inpatient pharmacy experience, or 5 years plus completion of an inpatient residency

    + _Completion of a PGY1/PGY2 Pharmacy Administration Residency fulfills this requirement_

    + Preferred: Board Certification, such as Board-Certified Sterile Compounding Pharmacist (BCSCP), or another specialty aligned with duties

    + Demonstrated ability to oversee sterile compounding operations, including hazardous and non-hazardous IV preparation

    + Strong working knowledge of USP <795>, <797>, and <800> standards and practical application in sterile compounding environments

    + Experience ensuring compliance with The Joint Commission, DEA, FDA, CDPH, and California Board of Pharmacy standards

    + Competence in environmental monitoring processes, cleanroom certification, remediation planning, and documentation systems
