    How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

     

    The Regional Security

    Manager (RSM), based at Delta’s Hub airport in Atlanta, GA (ATL) is responsible

    for Security Operations, continuously monitoring potential security

    vulnerability and implementing mitigation strategies at the assigned hub

    airport and surrounding Southeast territories. Key

    programmatic responsibilities include investigating criminal and company

    policy “Rules of the Road” violations in addition to assessing, responding and

    mitigating “Real Time" security related incidents and risks to Delta

    Air Lines operation, people, and assets. Supporting special initiatives,

    conducting public and secure area risk assessments and mitigation strategy

    development and implementation, along with security business plan

    development. The ATL region includes the ATL Airport and parts of the

    Southeast Region. This position will be based in Atlanta, GA.

     

    **Summary of responsibilities** (not

    comprehensive of all tasks):

    + Developand drive relationships with Federal Airport Authorities, Federal and Local LawEnforcement Authorities, US Embassy Regional Security Officers and TSARepresentatives in order to promote Delta policy objectives and lead proactivesecurity risk mitigation.

    + Conductrisk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for TSA compliance failures,operational security events, and loss prevention activities.

    + Continuallyassess changes that may affect the station’s risk classification and makeadjustments to mitigate risk as necessary.

    + Conductand/or assist with internal investigations including assisitng withcustomer/employee misconduct and other security related events as necessary.

    + AssistDelta’s local and regional leadership and their teams within area ofresponsibility (AOR) with loss prevention, compliance, corrective action, finemitigation, and other security programs.

    + Develop andmaintain direct relationships with airport authorities, local/state andfederal law enforcement, and regulatory agencies within area ofresponsibility (AOR), including responding to information requests andproviding testimony as required.

    + Serve as asecurity subject matter expert at airport and government meetings.

    + Coordinateemergency response within area of responsibility.

    + Develop,maintain and report strategies and key metrics for area of responsibility.

    + Practicesafety and security conscious behaviors in all aspects of job responsibilities.

    + Additionalresponsibilities may be assigned based on business and operational needs.

    What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

    + Collegedegree or five to ten years in aviation operations is preferred.

    + Fiveor more years in security, law enforcement or similar background isrequired.

    + Musthave good analytical skills and deductive reasoning skills. Inaddition, relevant work experience should include one or more of the following:loss prevention, compliance, corrective action, fine mitigation, physicalsurveillance and/or other security programs.

    + Proficientin Microsoft Office Suite of applications and related security tools.

    + Abilityto manage multiple projects or tasks and provide reliable, high-quality resultsunder stressful situations in a fast-paced environment required.

    + Mustbe comfortable working with highly sensitive and confidential information andmaterials.

    + Strongcommunication skills both verbally and in writing, communicating at all levels- both internal and external.

    + Mustbe willing/able to travel to all Delta cities served worldwide; expected travelat least 50%.

    + Candidatesmust be available to work off-hours and on weekends as the airline is a24/7/365 operation.

    + Consistentlyprioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.

    + Embracesdiverse people, thinking, and styles.

    + Isat least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

    What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

    + MAor MS degree or minimum of 10 years in aviation security, risk management, lawenforcement or managing a security operations center.

    + ProfessionalCertification or study within the areas of security management, investigations,risk management, homeland security or ER response management from an accreditedschool or organization.

    + Knowledgeof Delta security practices, TSA, CBP, and other government agencies securityregulations.

    + Seasonedanalytical and deductive reasoning skills with the ability to act tacticallyand strategically, to include developing and modifying security programs tosupport business objectives, risks, and continuous improvement.

    + Priorexperience leading a high energy, diverse team through inclusion andcollaboration.

    + Experiencemanaging risk assessments of critical infrastructure, call center, or hotelfacilities and implementing strategies to reduce employee and enterpriserisk.

    + Workingknowledge and experience with IATA's Security Management System (SeMS), itsfunctions and organizational benefits.
