    We are seeking a highly experienced Senior AWS Cloud Engineer with strong development skills in Java and Python, and a background in the airline or retail industry. This role focuses on building scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud-native applications using AWS, with a strong emphasis on microservices, containerization, and modern development practices.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    + Collaborate with the technical teams, business teams, and product managers to ensure that the code that is developed meets their vision.

    + Align to Security/Compliance frameworks and controls requirements.

    + Design and develop microservices using Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and GraphQL to meet functional and technical requirements.

    + Write clean, testable code in Java and Python, with unit testing using JUnit.

    + Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline.

    + Use Maven or Gradle for build automation and dependency management.

    + Architect and implement containerize, using Docker and orchestrate with Kubernetes, and cloud native applications.

    + Work with SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB, MongoDB, Redis) databases.

    + Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.

    + Monitor, optimize, and secure cloud environments using AWS-native tools.

    + Optimize cloud costs and performance through monitoring, automation, and best practices.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers.

    What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

    + 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering with a focus on AWS.

    + Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, with 8+ years of relevant technical experience or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems with 2+ years of technical experience.

    + Strong programming skills in Java (Spring Boot) and Python.

    + Experience with JUnit for unit testing and GraphQL for API development.

    + Proficiency with Maven or Gradle for build and dependency management.

    + Deep understanding of microservices architecture and API design.

    + Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS container services.

    + Hands-on experience with AWS services: EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, IAM, VPC, etc.

    + Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL database technologies.

    + Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.

    + Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

    What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

    + AWS certifications(e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional).

    + Experience with event-drivenarchitectures (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis, SNS/SQS).

    + Familiarity with serverlesscomputing and edge services (e.g., AWS Lambda@Edge, CloudFront).

    + Exposure to Agile/Scrummethodologies and DevOps culture.

    + Experience in theairline or retail industry, with domain-specific knowledge.
