    Russell Sage College is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach MAT 121: Mathematics for Teaching and Learning II during the Spring 2026 semester. This course builds on foundational concepts introduced in MAT 111 and deepens understanding of mathematical ideas essential for effective teaching. The course aligns with the New York State Next Generation Learning Standards, covering Expressions & Equations, Algebra, Geometry, Measurement & Data, and Statistics & Probability.

     

    Enrollment is limited to Childhood and Middle Childhood Education majors, with an emphasis on developing strong conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and the ability to design meaningful, student-centered mathematics learning environments.

     

    Adjunct compensation is currently $1000 per credit hour (depending on staffing needs and enrollment).

    Job Requirements:

    A graduate degree in science or education and/or recent physics teaching experience preferred. Previous experience teaching high school or undergraduate labs is helpful but not required.
