    Our client, a leading organization in the technology and data management sector, is seeking a Data Center Technician - Technical IT 2 to join their team. As a Data Center Technician - Technical IT 2, you will be part of the Operations Support team supporting data center infrastructure and IT hardware maintenance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate adaptability, attention to detail, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully in the organization.

     

    **Job Title:** Data Center Technician - Technical IT 2

    **Location:** Onsite - Hoffman Estates, IL

    **Pay Range:** $28 - $30/hr + Benefits & PTO

    **End Date:** 3/31/2025 - possibility of extension

     

    Day Shift B: 12-hrs (Thu-Sat) & (Wed-Sat)

     

    What's the Job?

     

    + Prepare, stage, set up, and perform startups and shutdowns of hardware components such as racks, hard drives, and switches according to detailed instructions and protocols.

    + Conduct post-execution quality checks to ensure proper grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling in compliance with safety and deployment standards.

    + Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting to identify issues quickly and replace faulty components following standard procedures.

    + Decommission hardware for simple upgrades or refreshes, including memory upgrades and OS rebuilds, with minimal supervision.

    + Communicate, report, and escalate incidents effectively to the appropriate Data Center Technician Leads.

     

    What's Needed?

     

    + High school diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification.

    + Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.

    + At least 1 year of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.

    + Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Excel, and Word.

    + Flexibility to work non-standard hours, including weekends and holidays.
