    Job Description:

    Job Title: Events Coordinator

     

    FLSA: Exempt

     

    General Function

     

    The Events Coordinator assists in planning and organizing events on behalf of the Hy-Vee corporate office. In addition, they focus on all internal service, department and award events, assuring the highest quality of programs.

    Accountable and Reports to: Assistant Vice President, Special Events

     

    Positions that Report to you: None

     

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

     

    + Responsible for planning, logistics, coordinating, and implementing various company-wide events in accordance with financial and time restraints

    + Research vendors and venues

    + Coordinate and compile information for various company awards

    + Responsible for the retirement program, planning and coordinating celebration events and gifts

    + Assists in scheduling, planning and implementing the corporate calendar of events

    + Track expenses related to event

    + Performs other job-related duties and special projects as needed

    + Reports to work when scheduled and on time

    + Knowledgeable of standard office equipment and programs, including calculator, telephone, copier, fax, and PC with Microsoft Office programs

     

    Education and Experience

     

    Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year College preferred; Two to three years related experience and/or hospitality management or public relations; or equivalent combination of education and experience

    Physical Requirements

    + Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near and far range with or without correction, normal depth perceptions

    + Must be physically able to perform medium work: occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 50 pounds, and frequent standing and walking

    + Must be able to perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions

     

    Working Conditions

     

    The duties of this position are performed primarily in a general office setting, with frequent work at other venues. There is constant pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects in a day.

     

    Contacts

     

    Has daily contact with store and office personnel, suppliers/vendor/venues and the general public

     

    Confidentiality

     

    Has access to confidential programs, including employee records, and other various company information
